Perhaps an impostor attended the 22nd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony in 2007, which honored (among others) new inductees Grandmaster Flash, who got his start on Robinson's Sugar Hill Records label. Yeah, it was probably just a coincidence that the wrong woman was photographed with Slash.

I don't know lol something about the woman posing with those random people, something's off. I obviously can't see the other photos from WireImage. If you can, please post them in its enlarged state. I'm just confucked right now.

This is a real scandalous cover of Marvin's "You Sure Love to Ball" (if it wasn't already scandalous enough from Marvin!):

No prob. Doesn't Paul Shaffer like control the music for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band? She does look like a member of David Letterman's band... [Edited 10/4/11 16:26pm]

I think he does
And yeah, that's the first thing that came to my mind when I seen that photo.
I'm thinking, "Dang, she died too?!!"

That's the problem when someone probably has the same name as the band mate and can be easily mistaken for a legend. Sylvia Robinson was a recluse for the most part after the end of the '80s. I posted recent photos of Sylvia and the woman that is "identified" as "Sylvia the legend" don't look a like. So not an imposter at all but probably a musician with the same name. It can be easy to be misidentified especially online.

So, Vanity Fair, Wireimage, the Associated Press and at least 20 websites also mistook Paul Shaffer's guitarist Felicia Collins for the late Sylvia Robinson? I don't feel so bad now.

She was also behind the discovery of Naughty by Nature, who went by the name New Style when signed to her Bon Ami record label.
