Showtime To Air Suge Knight Documentary

[img:$uid]http://i.imgur.com/nUMCD.jpg?421[/img:$uid]

September 27, 2011

Just weeks after Showtime bowed its Paul McCartney documentary, the premium cable network is delving into another music-themed effort with Suge Knight.

Training Day's Antoine Fuqua will direct and produce the tentatively titled project based on the life and exploits of the Death Row Records co-founder. Bradley J. Fischer will produce alongside Fuqua. The Knight doc is the first in a series of new documentaries produced by Showtime that will spotlight iconic and controversial figures to be overseen by filmmakers.

"Suge Knight's reputation and rise to power in the music business has become the stuff of legend, and he remains one of the entertainment industry's most provocative and enduring myths," Fischer said in a statement announcing the news Tuesday. "But while his name elicits an immediate and powerful reaction from people around the world, very few can legitimately claim to know the man. Antoine Fuqua and I are thrilled to be partnering with Showtime to tell this remarkable story and take audiences behind a curtain that most have been terrified to even approach."

Knight will participate in the doc and will discuss his rise to fame, why it fell apart and what's next.

The effort also doubles as Knight's return to the music business: the producer set to oversee the film's soundtrack, which will feature original tracks from new and established performers, through his new company Black Kapital.

Out of all the people to do a docu on, they pick him? Thank goodness I already cancelled Showtime off my cable package.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Isn't this the same Suge Knight that got KTFO a few years ago by some unknown regional rap artist from California?!?

If I'm not mistaken, THAT incident was caught on tape and sent to TMZ. That same tape killed Suge's mythic forever.

An interesting side note: In 1997, a friend of mine an record excutive was walking down Sunset Blvd to his office. A suv pulled up and 3 guys jump out of the vehicle. They grabbed him and pulled him into the parking garage and put a gun in his mouth. After a minute or 2 of commotion..............they realized that he was NOT Suge. They took the gun out of his mouth and pulled off.

2 bad 4 him........but he looks quite a bit like Suge Knight. True story.

I wonder if Suge could have been someone else's "blood sacifice".

Suge Knight looks like a dude that would have a small penis.

His personality, the way he treats people when he was in power... I just get that vibe with him that he is 300 pounds of Dynamite with a Quarter Inch Fuse.

lol

That's exactly what I was about to ask because I remember some time back it was being said that he was a "poser" and really wasn't a blood.
