Three.
The first version (which was actually a demo but released anyways) in '60 Another version (but with a different twist) around '64 or '65 (not sure, I just know there's some footage of Tina singing that song on American Bandstand around then - by herself without Ike) And then the 1993 version.

Ike and Tina were notorius for recording multiple versions of the same song. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Case in point I think five different versions of "It's Gonna Work Out Fine". My personal favorite (after the original) being the 1975 remake with Tina singing more forcibly than before with Ike (this time) adding his own two cents (contrary to what he might've said, that was Mickey Baker on the original version going "yes Tina?" This was the case because Ike and Tina had one of those arguments so Ike refused to be in the studio at the time. Tina only did the session because she was tired and wanted to get it over with).

There are also like 4 or 5 different versions of "Let's Get It On". Many people don't know that there are two different versions of "Proud Mary". "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Yeah I think it was a habit of Ike's because he was never satisfied so they would record five versions of the song and then whatever he liked or the label liked or maybe what Tina liked got released. I'm disappointed neither Ike nor Tina discussed how they handled their musicality since there was so much personal drama.

I really wish she would have stayed with Ike musically...... I simply adore her funky soul side. The female James Brown. Awesome classic!!! Stevie Wonder = EARTH
Prince = WIND Chaka Khan = FIRE Sade = WATER the ELEMENTS of MUSIC
