Radiohead question I'm looking for some reccomendations. I've just been starting to get into Radiohead from stuff I've downloaded. What album would you suggest I get first?

Radiohead-Unplugged (EXCELLENT!!!) Radiohead-Live In Holland Okay, this is probably my fav. live album by them, its soundboard and simply amazing, kicks the released live cd's ass...by far

Thanks! I don't like them much, but I bought "Kid A" after I read a rave review in "The Source", of all places. I was very pleasantly surprised and happily took back some of my earlier prejudices. "Kid A" is a work of willful "eccentricity" that accidentally stumbles into one of genius. They listened to a lot of great jazz when they were making it, especially Charlie Mingus. Parts of the album remind me of "Cumbia & Jazz Fusion". Unfortunately I bought "Amnesiac" expecting more of the same and, sadly, some of my prejudices returned ... although "Pyramid Song" is a fucked up gem.

This order: The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Pablo Honey (by this point you'll be an obsessive collector and will want everything). Also keep an eye out for the Airbag EP (OOP).

You gotta start with the bends! Most commercial. Still the best.

Thanks! I'd say The Bends and OK Computer. I didn't dig their stuff from Kid A onwards. And Pablo Honey is a "mixed bag"

Which is why I said "Quite." I was giving props to the poster above for questioning the "rest isn't very interesting" comment.
