Duran Duran last night at Nokia Cannot post anymore on the last DD thread started 9/08. So I went to the concert last night (my 3rd non-classical, non-jazz, non-world-music concert ever!) and I was REALLY impressed w/ how good they were live! "Real music" played on instruments is still alive. And 50 year olds are still rockin', god bless 'em! Neon Trees also fabulous. After the Timbaland fiasco (when the band came in to the studio w/ their instruments, they said he didn't recognize what "those things" were, like the bass guitar), they got their groove back.

Thank God Simon got his voice back! He was going through some serious stuff, DD had to cancel many concerts earlier this year. Glad you had a great time.

I'm going to see them on Friday in Las Vegas. They know how to put on a show. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Oh, didn't know. I read a couple articles now - hope his voice doesn't blow out completely one day. In one of the articles, they discuss (again - recurring theme for past decade) for cultural innovation, or what I call iconoclasm, or simply DangerMusicSexRomance, is lacking nowadays in rock music. Here's an excerpt: Interviewer: People say there's so much sex in the media, but I don't see that today's teens have anything like Duran Duran -- they've got 'Glee' and 'High School Musical.' Any thoughts on why it seems like things are tamer than when you guys came around?
