Xavier - Gentle Screamer (HELLA Princey song) No this is not the George Clinton produced funk band who recorded "Work That Sucker To Death," it is one single man all on his own who also happens to go by the name of Xavier.
If you love Prince, you'll love this song of his called "Gentle Screamer," from his debut album "The X Factor" originally released in '95.
The album is very Prince and Michael Jackson influenced, although a couple of the tracks feature him singing in a raggamuffin styled lead vocal, which may or may not have been a result of dorky rec execs telling him to change his sound around. Bastids!
Anyways, be sure to check out his other stuff under the names of "Chocolate Butterfly," "Me and this Japanese Guy" and "Blood Sugar."

...
I have that album!
Another track I liked was the off-center but captivating (for me, anyway)"Angel of Mercy"...

IMO that one sounds like both Prince AND Michael at the same time. I'm sure "X" himself would be flattered by the comparisons. | |
