Natalie Cole Fans "Thankful" For Reissue Yes, the much sought after "Thankful" will be reissued in October (sorry, no bonus tracks)! This will actually be the second reissue for this album. the first one was done back in the 90s but pressed in very limited quantities and usually goes for a lot of bread on ebay.
Great stuff from Natalie, recorded way before she started singing with the ghost of her father! This one has her sweet voice being produced by Chuck Jackson and Marvin Yancy of the Independents, and they give her a nice jazzy sound that made the record one of her best of the 70s. Richard Evans and Gene Barge arranged, which probably had something to do with it, and the album includes the great groovers "La Costa" and "Annie Mae".

I hope it's mastered properly this time around. I have the 90s version of the cd and it doesn't sound that great. Not to mention the packaging is HORRIBLE!
Capitol Records has lots of r&b albums that have never been issued on cd. I think Maze is one of the few r&b acts that has a semi-proper cd collection on Capitol. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

It says this release will have bonus tracks it's suppose to be the expanded edition.....SO i hope it is extra tracks we can enjoy! | |
