*NEW* En Vogue - I'll Cry Later

BRAND NEW song from En Vogue released earlier this week to Urban AC radio.

From their forthcoming album released on Rufftown Records.

Note: Dawn Robinson is only touring with the girls and unwisely decided to sit out this new album. Based on this new song though, I don't think it makes any difference.

All that's available right now is the low quality rip on YouTube. Enjoy!

Thank you... finally!! It sounds really good, I thought it would be cheap and dated yet this is exactly what they need to be successful on Urban AC. I hope Dawn can at least be a featured guest on the album.

Terry still got that POWER, Cindy still mesmerizes and Max sounds young and not grandma like. Can't wait for CDQ!!

I'ma listen to this song when the Stevie Wonder 'Rock in Rio' concert on YouTube is over. But here's a recent two-part interview with Dawn Robinson. She talks about everything from what was supposed to be the group's 3rd album that became Terry Ellis' solo album, her intial split with the group, the on again/off again reunions, and the latest drama with Rufftown Records. A lot of stuff has been said about this woman over the years. But after listening to her tell her side of the continuing En Vogue saga I have much respect for this woman. She didn't just up and quit the group. A lot of people want to blame Dawn for the group's demise, but it sounds like she's the only one in the group who understood/understand the commodity that was/is En Vogue and the only one demanding to be paid what they were worth.

That song doesn't sound like any kind of eventful comeback. Sounds like a lot of background on and on-in'. There's nothing about it that's exciting to me. sad

Unwisely? Nah, I'm starting to see her sign of things now. Money decisions is what led to her leaving the group in the first place, the group basically accepted a deal where they wouldn't get much and Dawn didn't like that. So much for being a "troubled diva" with that scenario at least.

At the En Vogue show:

Max: "now we're gonna do our newest single"

Terry: "its going out to radio on our new label, rufftown records. sounds like ruffhouse but it aint"

Cindy: "you can't buy it anywhere right now but that makes it a collector's item"

Dawn: "i'm not getting paid for this so i'm gonna go on and take a dump. go on, girls"

First off, that song sounds good. Just let me say that right now and get it out of the way.

Secondly, I don't need to listen to her interview. I know a bit about this since I know and did business with some people who have dealt with Miss Robinson. Dawn has proven to be a bad investment. She owes MILLIONS, yes MILLIONS to various people in the industry and has yet to pay off. Ask Raphael Saddiq why she got booted out of Lucy Pearl. Dude spent a lot of money to get her out of her contract and she didn't pay off. She was hard to work with. That people she worked with after the Lucy Pearl stint...well, lets just say that didn't work out either. She has constantly overestimated her worth as a singer throughout her career. Also, she has made the mistake of trying to "ride" for the wrong people and really, truly having much less of an understanding of the music business than she thinks.

It sounds like a song in dire need of an interesting chorus. I'm a huge fan of the group, but "I'll Cry Later" is bland.

Maxine can look bad depending on the day, but other times she looks hot. The other 3 are always fine as all get out. love

Liking the new single. I'll always support these ladies.

You gotta be shittin me. She can be my MILF anyday of the week.

What amazes the hell out of me is that all these ladies are older than i

am but Dawn. I want to know what the hell Cindy is doing to look so

good for 50. I can't believe Terry is 48 either. These other ladies seem

to be 5 or 6 years older than Dawn if Wiki is correct.

Their voices still sound great to me.

I remember "used to have a crush on Dawn from En Vogue", from A Tribe Called Quest. All the guys used to say that.
