The people claiming the songs are real have an agenda - they are all people getting paid by the Estate or being given work. Riley, Freeze, etc.

3T have never shown themselves to be anything other then devoted to their uncle and his legacy, they also have no agenda. The scandal with the songs almost killed the whole project and has damaged the Estate's reputation. All they would have had to do was release unedited vocal tracks that prove it's Michael. Or video footage. Or handwritten lyrics by Michael. Or anything where he even MENTIONED these songs. They haven't done so because none of that stuff exists. Is it a coincidence these songs were not registered until after Michael died? It's been said by Will.I.Am that Michael kept his vocals on a hard drive and Will kept the music he'd produced... that was the same year, but somehow Cascio's have vocals? Akon stuff was recorded same year, but on those, Michael actually sounds like Michael, because it is him.

The Cascio songs are another person, and we know who. There was a great video online before with Cascio clips and clips of Jason Malachi songs back to back, clearly and obviously the same person.

Anyway, don't know if the leaked demo versions of "Monster" and "Breaking News" are still around, I have them somewhere, but they make it even MORE obvious that it's not him.

Preach....

Anyone who says that those fake songs are real MJ is reallly deluded , and not a real MJ fan , I mean , MJ had one of the most identifable voices on the planet , That wackass singing those songs is not the legendary MJ , they are horrible songs indeed disbelief

I know MJ's voice like the back of my hand, but this kid was making me cry and question my fandom for not REALLY knowing.... it was like not only is he dead, but now they don't know if it's him so they are killing him...maybe they are just playing mind games with fans to keep us interested, but it failed.

But thing is, of course I knew it wasn't him cause I wasn't feeling the vocals, but as soon as Do You Know Where Your Children are leaked, I was jamming, THAT was our mj! It's possible the leaked songs included some of his vocals, though definitely NOT all!

Behind the mask??

I do not know Michael or not on this album, but I do not care. The songs are absolutely not interesting.
2 songs that I like: "Behind the Mask" and "Another Day", and it`s 100% of Michael.

But my question is why Sony released a fake songs?? What happened to the songs that were recorded for the albums Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, but did not make the albums?
And for what Sony paid $ 250 million?
For the fake songs?? It's weird! confused

i knew i was forgetting something, yes also behind the mask.

but i totally agree with you. michael has said he writes and records hundreds of songs for his albums.. and excpecially since BAD was supposed to be a 3 disc set, WHERE IS ALL THE MATERIALS?! ughh.. idk but the fact of the matter is we all know michael was a "workaholic" so i know for a FACT that there are hundreds of songs in the mj vault. why sony is using casio recordings and others that we know just arent michael, im not sure.. all i know is that we want/need more MICHAEL. More Music, More Concert footage, ect.. sony..FIX THIS!

Yeah! That's the problem. I like it, it's catchy and all, an earworm, but it is not Michael!

I LOVE Monster, but I don't get a Michael vibe either, though it's possible he could have had some musical and vocal impact in patches and then the "sound-alike" filled in.

The three Cascio tracks heard on Oprah did not make my MJ radar go off, so I know something is up

I do agree Keep Ya Head Up is well written and very relatable, and that his adlibs were used in the end, and older ones could have had the pitch gone up.

Yes! I think so too... I think they had (little) bits and pieces and used a stand in to make up a track.

Truth, or rather fact is, it's never been disproved or proved that it is MJ singing on those tracks.

Everyone has a right to their opinion.

Sadly it will never be resolved enough to satisfy either camps. When it all blew up last year you had the Jackson family saying it didn't sound like Michael and the truth would be known in a few days - that was months ago.

It was also reported on here by a supporter of the songs that video existed of MJ recording Monster, but alas that hasn't eventuated either.

Personally I think when there is doubt they shouldn't have been included - or atleast not in an official album release. They could have released the album with other songs in their place and then had those 3 songs on an itunes only release, allowing fans to choose to buy or not buy the songs based on their own views.

Aside from the is it him or isn't it him, sadly the songs in question just weren't good enough. Breaking News is average. Monster is ok. Keep You Head Up is somewhat generic.

Of course all of this could have been solved if Sony had just released the demo versions without any alledged polish. I always hoped a deluxe edition would have been released with the finished album on one disc and the untouched demoes on the other.

You have to remember that Sony was trying to put together an album that not a record with unreleased muic that only catered to die hard MJ fans.

Well, obviously Sony wanted recent songs and not old left overs which Michael deemed not good enough for release.... but then one would have to ask, why Behind the mask is on the album?

Exactly - people wanted to hear what MJ had been recording since 2001. Thus the album is made up of songs from the last few years.

Also the deal is for several albums, so those songs you mention will find their way on future releases.

I would tell you check out Maxjax, but the forum is down

Would it be on Google Cache or the Wayback Machine at www.archive.org? I also have a Firefox add-on at my work computer called something like Resurrect Page that offers a whole bunch of options for viewing a page that's down or no longer around, or viewing a page as it used to be years ago.

Anyhow, the thing that I find absolutely unexplainable and unalterable about the questionable tracks is that the pronounciation doesn't sound like MJ. I highly doubt there's any software that can do that -- and even if there were, why would they bother? Why run vocals through one million different pointless filters and then refuse to release the original vocals when people notice something's not right?

lol Sorry, I'm the one who started it, but I was just asking a simple question that didn't have to lead to a drawn out argument.

I appreciate those that actually answered my question, but I don't appreciate the ones who just insult anyone who disagrees with them. Militant's argument makes sense, though it's not 100% solid proof, so I remain unsure.. when it comes to one of my favorite artists, I can't write a song off as fake unless I'm completely sure, but again, I never claimed these songs to be real; I just asked if solid evidence exists to prove they're not.

As I've said since the beginning, if you don't want to talk about this, I'm willing to drop it, and I won't bring it up again. But I don't see any other discussion going on in here..

Well I really enjoyed the discussion. I mean I loved reading all the posts. I'm definitely one of those who think "I've heard enough and yet I still don't know for sure. I think anything is possible". If some of you think that makes me less of a fan because I don't recognize what's his voice and what's not then whatever... not on internet to convince anyone how much I love Michael anyway bored2

Moving on...Behind the Mask was included on the album for the same reason the rest of the songs were. The records fit the vibe Sony was going for. I'm sure they went through hundreds of records before picking the final listing. I'm certain we'll get plenty of unreleased music, but don't count on the songs being in "original" form.

Interview with Prince at Bambi. He's so sweet.

Someone translated it in Youtube:

Host: Please welcome Prince Michael Jackson! (...) Great to have you here! Good to see you have arrived here safely. Have you had the chance to get a first impression oft he city yet?

Prince: I flew over Berlin and I wish I could stay longer here to see the sights.
I remember visiting Berlin/Germany in 2002 with my dad. I love Berlin. Germany is a great country. But unfortunately I won't have a enough time to do some sightseeing.

Host: Maybe next time. You have been to Germany before with your dad. Do you remember any of that?

Prince: I remember that when he got the award he brought it in and I always wanted to play with it because it was such a shiny little deer. But he didn't allow me to because it was a very important award for him and he valued it a lot as it was a recognition of his charity work.

Host: You father had an immensly big heart and was known for his great charity work.

Prince: It just takes one voice to change the world. My dad raised his voice through his music, through songs like „Change the world" or „Heal the world". Songs that made people care for our planet.

Host: That's right. We are so honored that you are here tonight and support our charity. And you brought something with you , something very special.

Prince: I brought this book which was written by my Grandma, who also signed it. And I will also sign it now. And we brought the handwritten lyrics of my dad's songs „Bad", „Smooth Criminal" and „Billie Jean".

Host: Wow! That's incredible! These are the original , handwritten lyrics by Michael Jackson fort he songs „Bad", „Smooth Criminal" and „Billie Jean"! I think that in the very moment when the idea fort he song came into his mind he put it down, right there, on the paper. That's really incredible! Thank you!

Prince: It's a pleasure!

Host: Dear ladies and gentleman, you can aution these and various other items on our website. (...) Now we have something very special. A small surprise. (...) In remembrance of your father we will welcome 30 young and probably very nervous kids from the Berlin children's choir (...) who will perfom „We Are The World"!

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

The original concept was that Prince would do half the album (as The Joker) and Michael would do the other half (as Batman). That's why you see Prince in character as The Joker in the videos but not as Batman.

I thought his character was "Gemini," half Joker/half Batman.
