Album: Stone Rollin' (2011)

Buy the CD, support the brotha doin real music.

No drum machines or synths on the whole disc.

First of all, beautiful song and video. Just beautiful. Second of all, Stone Rollin' is really a great album. It's better than his last one, The Way I See It. Real musicianship, great variety and experimentalism Ray Ray puts on Stone Rollin'. Buy it!

I have the album...to be honest I never really listened to this song all the way through and would always skip it. To me it just sounds like something I've heard before BUT....I do love the video and its concept. Saadiq is really looking great to be pushing 50 in the next few years. The album is just okay to me. I bought it to support him since I'm a fan. As far as I'm concerned, while "The Way I See It" and "Stone Rollin'" aren't bad albums (I'll take "Stone Rollin'" over "The Way I See It" any day), I actually prefer "Instant Vintage" over all his solo efforts. To this day I can put on "Instant Vintage" and blast it like it just came out (sort of how like I can with all of 3T's stuff too), but I haven't listened to "The Way I See It" since I bought it around the time it came out and I haven't really touched "Stone Rollin'" in the past months either.

Of course. Out of all of his solo efforts, Instant Vintage is at the top. I don't see him topping it again, unless he gets off the revival music horse. Stone Rollin' isn't that far from the top either. I've been spinning that disc since last May.

i wasn't usre if i liked stone rollin as much as the way i see it but now i like damn near every track. especially the sly influenced hidden track with larry graham. the track with robert randolph is great too. saadiq is good because he takes chances and almost evry song has a different vibe. is not better than instant vintage but it is a solid cd

I don't know he was the house band for the ESPY's. I gotta catch a rerun sometme soon. I was passing through, and I seen him singing. I though that was it, but everytime someone won an award, his music would play.

I might have to disagree I listened to some sound clips from Stone Rollin' and there's nothing on there that moves me the way Oh Girl,100 Yard Dash,Never Give You Up,Just One Kiss and Love That Girl did.The Way I See It is a masterpiece and I was very excited to go out and buy it.

Saadiq's album is excellent. Almost a masterpiece. And this is my favourite tune.
