Singers you would like to see make a comeback This topic came to my mind this weekend. I was listening to Karyn White's 2nd album, "Ritual of Love" and got to thinking that there is no reason that she should not be recording and performing now. I loved her first 2 albums and liked the 3rd one. I just never understood why she would not continue to record and release material. Especially with the NJS era acts constantly touring now. She could definitely be a part of those lineups.
So, I would like to post this question to the org, who would you like to see making new music again. I'm not talking about someone like Janet Jackson or Prince who has continued to record over the years, but I'm talking about someone that only released a couple of albums but hasn't done anything musically in a long time. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Wham! (I don't mean George Michael solo. Wham! was fun, George tends to record downer music ) Jermaine Jackson En Vogue (They've been touring all this time, but I want an album including Dawn.) Commodores (The original 5 that are still alive, but I guess JD Nicholas can be included) Van Halen (with Mike, not Wolfgang) The Police (I know they did a tour, but they didn't record any new music) Sugarhill Gang Julian Lennon Digable Planets Kriss Kross Sharon Bryant & Barbara Weathers as a duo Sheena Easton Lisa Lisa You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Hell, I'm content with AN ALBUM comeback or not, I just want these broads out and about again. Baby fingers is still performing and doing seminars, but I need an album from her.
In fact, a collaboration between the two in the same vein as Joe Sample & Lalah Hathaway would be grand.

He's not making a "George Michael" album anyway, but some kind of dance compilation with homosexual acts. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

George is making something of a comeback but not the comeback I'd hope for lmao then again I heard he's doing real with his symphony tour.

When was this released? I know he recorded a song about his friend that died who inspired Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I think someone posted it earlier this year, not sure though. But I could've sworn someone posted that song this year. I posted on a thread of his and I think it included that song.

There's a thread about it here somewhere. George is writing and producing a dance album with gay performers. I guess it's going to be a Quincy Jones style album. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Don't know, but she was on Oprah not long before her show went off the air. I wasn't paying any attention to it, but I think Shania said she had lost her voice and couldn't sing. Maybe it's similar what happened to DMC. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Still working on that "comeback" album lol She just gained her voice back I think. She had lost it for some reason, may have been related to her personal problems with Mutt Lange because she lost it around that time.
