Yes because they do this only in the last year....don't say you don't see this but this is probably because a lot of stylists like Lagerfeld of Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana took her as a muse for their new collection.... but I don't like see her style on everyone because it's her own style....this is what I wanna say...

No other female artist is wearing the tuxes though.

Sorry Cindy I'm gonna have to disagree.
Until I see someone with both a pompadour and a tux I'm not gonna be one of those "oh she copped that from so and so" remind me of when people were accused of copping off Gaga lol

In fact no other female artist was wearing tuxedos in recents years except Janelle...THIS IS HER SIGNATURE LOOK...now everybody with the tux and the pompadours...

Ok...your opinion... for me it's not a case....

And, Alcia was wearing her hair like that, way before Janelle.... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Really? I didn't know..sorry for that...

Like I was saying before, there is no such thing as, original. Everybody takes something, from everybody else.
"Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

And that's not even a bad thing...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Nope....It isn't. I look at it as, they paying tribute to those before. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Right and if one so happens to cop a look from someone who JUST came out it's no problem either lol

Unless it is done by the record company to sell records. I don't care what anybody says, Def Jam totally ripped off FeFe Dobson's look, when they were "re-imagining" Rihana. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

The record company definitely play a hand in some artists' careers like that.

Now doesn't this make Janelle the one who stole other people's look? Or does it not count sense you like Janelle more than them?
Stop trying to take down other singers just cuz you like Janelle more than them. 2012: The Queen Returns

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I said in recent years...I know of Annie Lennox....but she's not recent... for the tux... In the 80's Annie and Madonna did that I know... But I only noticed a significant increase of women in tuxedos and pompadours after Janelle...really....this year...

I think Janelle was inspired by Rachael the android in Blade Runner for Cindy Mayweather and also for the hair in all sincerity....clearly not inspired by Rihanna...

I see Janelle as carrying the torch in tribute to those who influenced her musical and current fashion style. Not as someone trying to re-make the wheel... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I'd say both of 'em got that hat from Liza Minelli, who got it from her mother, who got it from some other female entertainer before her, who got it from some man. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

The poem on Lady T includes the humble lines, "You and I are no more or less than each other--small fragments of the Master’s imagination."
On Starchild she writes, "No one’s new or innovative except the creator who puts all thoughts and blessings in our hearts and cerebrums in the first place."

The "woman in a pantsuit" style was popularized by Katherine Hepburn, so if anything, everyone is copying her, and she was copying the men's suit style, so she can't even get all the credit.
Besides, I doubt Janelle is salty because she's not the only person in the world to wear a pompadour hairstyle and a suit. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and there are more important things to fret over. time flies.
