I found this out in some of the forums I visit, this post really upsets me Check it out:

Goddness,,they have 90% of WETs on every channel out there and we only have ONE BET an they have the nerve to complain about that?? I don't recall BET saying offensive ramarks 2 white folks like "Kill the white devil" or call them "crackheads"?? Wassup with that??

Viacom Owns BET while Robert Johnson is still on Board but it's White Owned now.also The Shiftless,Buffon,Mamma,Bucking,Shucking&Jiving that goes on with the Videos,Comedy Shows,etc.. there what is the Problem? those White folks should Love BET=Buffon Entertainment Television.most of the Videos&Songs are were direct with MTV Even before the Merger.like I said before I have to sometimes check the Calendar because it feels more like 1903 instead of 2003.a Cat like Bush would say that is enough Affirmative-Action with having BET.BET doesn't Promote the Ed Gordons,Tavis Smiley's,Donnie Simpsons,&Others that Bring some Class to the Channel.no they just Want T&A&truth be told "Amos&Andy" Seems far more Fresher than the Scary Sites I see on that Network IMHO.every other Channel is WET.like I said before Balck FOlks are the Step-Children on this Plantation&how ever We Survive&see another day is Extra Gravy because we still Fighting&Battling for a Piece of the Pie.

It seems like only one white person was complaining. BET is cool, but it's not the same anymore since the sale.

To tell you the truth, Blacks don't really own a lot of the stuff you see TV or hear on radio. Sure we're the puppets in front of the circus, but we're not controlling the strings. Take a market like L.A. for example: all of the urban radio stations catered to predominantly black and hispanic audiences (100.3 the Beat, Power 106) are white-owned and operated. Clear Channel owns The Beat. The only black owned/black neighborhood based radio station in Los Angeles is 102.3 KJLH in Inglewood, it's owned by Stevie Wonder. We still have a long way to go. For the most part, "urban radio" isn't even located in "urban areas" in L.A. all of the radio stations are based in Burbank or near Hollywood. Same is true for any major city, the "urban stations" are based in corporate offices downtown.

About the BET thing, I remember there was talks of the African Heritage Network, it was supposed to rival BET and offer a "refreshing" alternative for African-American viewers, but I guess it never got off the ground?

yeah me too. i'm sick of white complaining about BET too. and i'm white. but still you have to admit, BET is shit.
