Listen to THIS voice and to THIS beautiful song (David McAlmont)
(Sorry, I'm quite clumsy with these things, can anyone help me to put the youtube link in order?)
British singer David McAlmont joined forces with Michael Nyman for the album The Glare, which included this extremely beautiful song, Secrets, Accusations And Charges. Listen to a vocal performance that's difficult to equal. So icy and toaching that it's difficult to bear without shivering or crying.

Judging by the intensity of this discussion, I'm not going to contribute to McAlmont's rise from his unfair underground status...
I know he's not as good as Rihanna, but come on!
Don't insult dude like that.
I dug it. Most folks here just avoid good shit I guess.
I posted it because I find it incredibly unfair how underrated he is. He got some success in the mid 90's when he formed a duo with Suede's guitarist (and Duffy's producer) Bernard Butler, but he deserves much more. I mean, his voice is beautiful. I can't name many singers who can equal this.

That's what happens when music gets neglected like that. Especially with voices like his accompanying it. Thanks for bringing it to this board...which it so desperately needed.

I remember I heard 2singles from them and was quite impressed.

Get used to it kid. You must be new here. In general, unless your post is about the usual suspects or TMZ level stuff, it's a shot in the dark at best.
Thank you for listening. David would be happy if he was reading us. (Actually, the man hasn't a record deal now.)
No prob. He needs to come here and post more music here. We need music to get away from all this boring ass talks in this site lol
Exactly, that's why I came here for, to learn more about new, undiscovered music ... Please keep supporting these great underrated talents and leave those Beyonce's & Bieber's alone

And this is the awesome Yes, the hit single composed by McAlmont with Suede's Bernard Butler. It's like listening to a Phil Spector production. Actually, the productor is Mike Hedges, who later did the Manics' album Everything Must Go.

The only thing i've ever heard from him is the Mcalmont and Butler album which is great, but i love his voice, will have to dig a little deeper and explore his catalogue.
She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo
If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?

McAlmont And Butler releases a second album in 2003, Bring It Back, which is also brilliant.

I'll post two more songs. (Please help me with the video links, and if someone explains how to do it to me, I'd be grateful.)
This is the first single from the McAlmont-Nyman album. Also excellent.

Butler learnt a lot from these records, as one can see in their recent productions for Duffy or Nerina Pallot.

I'm really taken by "Take The Momey And Run"--it has this dreamy but slightly manic urgency to it that's unfectious.
