If she doesn't like hydrangeas, that's fine. But, don't say it in public to someone under your breath on camera where it can be recorded. Although, maybe eventually, it would come out in some interview that she doesn't like hydrangeas and the fan who gave her them would know. Can't fault her for not liking what she doesn't like, but she probably shouldn't have commented about it at that time. The fan didn't know. The gesture was what counted though, I'd say.

I guess this was Madonna's "Joan Collins moment" falloff

I am shocked. Devastated. Mortified. And many other adjectives of that nature... Where do I even begin??

On Friday, I went to Long Beach for Joan Collins' one woman show. Like any healthy, normal guy I can't help but worship her for her bitchiness, her glamour, and her incredible talent as an actress. Not to mention the woman looks better at 76 than any 30 year old I know...And, who doesn't admire that!?!

When I heard about the show, I immediately bought front row tickets and decided to do a portrait of Joan, so I could grab some photos of her with it for Odyssey Magazine and WOW report. While the show ending up being the most entertaining hour and a half performance I've ever seen in my life. The two minute story Joan told the audience about how early in her career she met Marilyn Monroe and Marilyn warned her about sleazy studio heads that sleep with young actresses in exchange for movie parts, was worth the price of admission alone. Unfortunately, my evening was followed by sheer and utter tragedy...

Before the show, I set up a photo-op through Joan's amazingly kind and cooperative publicist. As far as the portrait was concerned, I figured it would go down the same as it did with Paris Hilton, Tori Spelling, Tammy Faye, and all of the other fancy ladies I've given portraits to. I was certain upon presenting Queen Joan with the portrait, she would snatch it out of my hand, she would tell me she loves it, cameras would flash, and we'd be instant friends....Oh, how wrong I was!!!!

Okay... before I go any further... I have to say...Truthfully, the portrait was definitely not my best work... I was not happy with it myself... I've been burnt out lately on portraits, okay??? I'm kind of over doing them after 10 years... Anyway, I'm an idiot and I should have realized: "OMG it's JOAN COLLINS!! Get it together!! " I should have done the best portrait of my life! But, what did I do? I smoked too much pot, I watched old episodes of Dynasty on You Tube as "research" and ending up spending only a day actually working on the portrait.... Friday night came sooner than I expected, so I finished it quickly. I thought it looked "good enough", so, I sprinkled some glitter on it , glued a couple tacky rhinestones around it and ran out the door.. Well, "good enough" doesn't work for Joan Collins!!!

When I arrived at the theater, her husband Percy and my new best friend Patty Freedman (Joan's publicist) said the portrait was fabulous and Joan would certainly like it. I realize now, they were both just being polite....

After the show, my big moment came to hand Joan the portrait. Well, Joan Collins took one unimpressed glimpse and (in front of everyone backstage) she said: "You keep it. I have so many portraits of myself.." I instantly wanted to throw myself off the nearest cliff, but, I somehow maintained composure long enough for my much coveted photo op with the Queen herself and my shity portrait. Watch the video and see the absolute horror for yourself!!!

I thought your portrait was wonderful! I think it's classless and downright tacky to tell somebody who made a gift for U with their own two hands to "keep it". She could have been gracious, and accepted it, then thrown it in the dumpster on her way out! I hope U keep it, or sell it for big bucks!

If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

What about that comment Jesse Jackson made about Obama when he thought the camera was off? lol

You can see the entire film here. In addition to Stevie's songs, the movie also features Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles.

Jet setting Madonna looks fresh-faced as she flies into New York with her brood

By Anita Bennett

Last updated at 4:14 AM on 5th September 2011

Madonna's children have already racked up more air miles than many people travel in a lifetime.

The jet setting family was spotted boarding a flight today at London's Heathrow Airport.

Clearly dressed for comfort, Madonna looked stylish in loose-fitting black trousers, a white blouse and a feathery scarf around her neck.

With almost no make-up and sunglasses covering her eyes, the Material mum breezed through the airport with 14-year-old daughter Lourdes and 11-year-old son Rocco by her side.

Hours later the 53-year-old superstar flashed a big grin as she arrived at New York's JFK Airport.

She was pictured with Rocco, her six-year-old son David Banda and daughter Mercy James, who waved at the crowd of photographers waiting to snap the family's picture.

Days earlier Madonna wowed fans at the 68th Venice Film Festival where she showcased her latest directorial effort.

The film, entitled W.E., is a drama loosely based on divorcee Wallis Simpson, whose relationship with Britain's King Edward VIII led to his abdication in 1936.

Her first film, Filth And Wisdom, was released in 2008 but didn't go down as well as the singer would have hoped, so her appearance in Venice is one of importance as she hopes to blow critics away with her second effort.

The title of the new film is said to stand for the initials of the two main characters, Wallis and Edward.

Ms Simpson became the Duchess of Windsor when King Edward VIII renounced the throne and married her.

But Madonna has cleverly given the film a modern twist, probably hoping that this will hold her in better stead for praise rather than negative press.

Unfortunately, her efforts may not pay off.

I sent a smutty painting backstage to John Waters (It's well documented that he loves smut so I thought he'd dig it) when we went to see his Xmas show last year. It wasn't sent back or rejected but part of his show was about things you shouldn't give people as Xmas gifts and one of those things was a rant about how folk shouldn't give people art unless you know they already collect that artist. boxed lol I felt like when Fred Flinstone used to get embarassed and got really really tiny in his chair. doh!

Anyway, I actually totally agree with that, but as an emerging artist am not ashamed to be a celebrity art-whore. shrug I look at it as a really expensive business card. More often than not it's worked out well for me. whew
