I am really curious as to what goes on in r. Kellys mind. There are few artists that have made such ghetto nasty bullshit songs and also made beautiful, deep meaningful songs to. Unlike prince kelly goes straight for the nasty, no foreplay like on 12 play. Man that remix of I'm in love with a stripper where he wants to stick his whole head up her ass=o that would make even 80s prince blush. But at least we know why he has shit in his ears now, he makes a fantastic double album r. Then a terrible song for batman & robin a terrible movie haha, then makes an album of mainly club songs. Few years later he makes a gospel/spiritual album which I dug, but the album seems a bit of practice what you preach.... then the awful untitled his worst album by far ugh just..... ugh lol. After that one of his best albums, his second best behind r,then back to the club songs. Robert is just not right lol even double up was just moderat sales, and untitled went nowhere of course. So his club albums actually have not been going anywhere for awhile.

I actually think Kels may be bipolar lol it ain't like what 2Pac used to do where he did one song praising the sisters and another song basically showing the other side of the women (mainly the ones riding on his dick), least with Pac you get where he was coming from. With Kels, it's pretty much "who are you?" lol

I always rolleyes whenever people think that. That's just cause for fights (Marvin and Frankie would attest to that since they both admitted they were in fights for people for even assuming that). lol

lol For some reason I could never see Marvin being the tough kind... hmmm. He just looked too nice. From what I've read, he sounded like he could be really nasty if you pissed him off. lol I might be wrong though...

Lest we forget, in his own words from the Divided Soul book, Marvin spoke of suffering from insecurities and self-doubt stemming from his dad's cross-dressing proclivities. Marvin added the letter E to his surname to deflect speculation about his sexual orientation.

Personally, I prefer R.Kelly's fetish/sexed out songs. Tbqh, I think that this is where he shines the strongest. I mean he does those uplifting and love songs, but his 'perverted' songs are his best ones. They exhibit a ton of creativity on his part as I believe that's because it's something that he, really, throw himself into. It's like...something he can really relate to on a level that most of us may not be able to understand or relate to in some aspects. Needless to say, I feel that he seems more passionate about it then when I hear his other work. I think that his work in this area is even way stronger than Prince's. Where Prince may visually display it or decide to use thinly veiled double entrdres R.Kelly doesn't have to do that, because he is just being really honest with himself.

Even if I don't support it, I hope that one day he will just be completely honest with himself and really do an album about his fetishes. I think it will be his most passionate work to date. F

No, he legally added the E himself.

He was born under his father's name, Rev. Marvin Pentz Gay, Sr.

I own several of Marvin's albums (and multiple versions of a couple of them) and I didn't know any of this. I knew he had family and wife issues, but I didn't know it went that weird. Makes me want to read that book now.

Dude had real deep issues and it started from childhood from having a father who didn't love him.

OK, duh! lol I didn't know any of that other stuff (evidently you didn't know it all, either hmph! ). I knew more about his wife issues, because he took those and made some great music.

I really didn't know it started that young or was that deep. I added that book to my used book search list.

Yep. They always say it starts at birth. I think Marvin felt like he was an unwanted child. It's been said had it not been for his mother's love he would've committed suicide as a kid.

His last album was good so I hope this one is at least decent. I don't care what anyone says R.Kelly used to make really great music. I still play the R. album like it just came out
