I still can't get over this show. I guess it hurts more because you can see

how much pain they are in and you hate to hear any of them dying from this

addiction, not just their family, but anyone dealing

with any type of addiction. I really wanted to cry when James broke down

and said something about Bobby and Dr.Drew stated

something like 'James, Bobby isn't here.'

also when James and Randy were hugging and crying

together when heading to the car.

My mother and I were calling in between commercials

telling our thoughts and then

I called her when the show ended she was crying/ She said "I felt like I was at a funeral"

"This is so sad."

I hope we will see big changes with this family.

The next time I see this family on any television programs ,I want to see

a healthier family, great smiles, tears of joy, lots of laughter, and them telling

us they are getting the group back together.

What I really want to hear them say: "We are drug-free and this time for good."

-- TIME WILL REVEAL

I think for their health they are really going to need to say goodbye to thoughts of the "group" and getting back together. Trying to recapture that experience, or the fall from the Grace of that existence, could pull on heart guilt strings and other emotional baggage - a precursor to relapsing. And wow, what year was their Unsung? They look decades older in this footage from Dr. Drew. It is heartbreaking. I don't pray much, but I will be praying for these guys in the coming days.

Debarge's Unsung aired Dec 08

This was so hard to watch. I feel so bad for them. sad What I saw brought tears to my eyes.

I think there may be more of them that need to go with them. If only a few go and get treatment, they will just come out and be around the ones who haven't. James only stayed in the program a few hours and left.

I know I hope and pray for the entire family. It was really heartbreaking watching that clip. Such a shame, their so talented and they were a good looking family as well sad to see what drugs have done on exception of EL who looks great for his age despite his addiction.

I agree. They need to focus on being a family first instead of trying to recapture their musical glory. That goes for all of them, including El and Chico.

No, not Chico, too!!! You're taking all my candy away from me,but seriously, I agree too with what you all said and how it wouldn't be wise for them to get the group together. I didn't really think about that before I said it,but I can see them relasping, especially the pressure that would be put on them and arguments and fighting that would come along with that package. The only way they know how to deal with difficult matters in their life is to turn to their 'best friend' and that is any drugs that would take the pain away.

This is the exact reasons I was so upset when months after El was released from prison they forced him into a fast comeback. I know he had to agree with it but pushing this new CD

like that with all the interviews and performances and more interviews and award show and concerts and reality show and then back on the road. I can see why El ended back into rehab.

He didn't stay long in rehab too, so you know with their history you all know El is still in no shape to do all this. He can fake it all he wants but he has to be true to himself.

El is trying so hard to please his fans and make them happy, but he has to realize

that the only thing that will make the 'true fans' of his happy is for him

to (first) please and make

ELDRA PATRICK DEBARGE happy and to feel complete without the drugs .

THEY ALL NEED TO Take time off to heal THEIR heart, mind and soul, it doesn't

matter how long it takes......

-'Love me in a special way, what more can I say, Love Me now.'

(because I'm special)

I don't think they should get back together as a group, either. They need to do something else. Anything but that. I was on Facebook, this morning, and read about a person who wants to get them back together as a group, after they have recovered. Moreover, this person wants to have them put on a concert/the proceeds go for a drug clinic in Grand Rapids. Don't like the idea. Sounds like exploitation/adds to what got them in trouble in the first place. All of them were close to God, as children, but lost that relationship. They need to be restored to him. Only then can they begin to experience recovery/healing. JMHO

And their legacy is already etched in stone as far as what they did musically so they don't need to make a comeback musically but make a personal comeback from ruin.
