Stevie Wonder on America's Got Talent

I don't follow this show, but I caught Stevie w/ some kid band (contestants) while passing through my living room tonight. He/they performed "Higher Ground."

I'm impressed that the kids play instruments, I think the drummer was quite good. But I generally don't enjoy rock music performed by kids.

I could tell that Stevie knew what he was doing - his singing compared to the girl's, getting audience participation, seeming to feel the music. The kids don't seem to understand that playing music live is a party - do they know how to party? And I don't mean the kind w/ pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Sorry, I didn't know who "Poplyfe" was, so I didn't open that thread.

If I knew how to take this one down, I would. How about I not post & let it die.
