The video featured a lusty Olivia, dressed in a tight leotard, working out in a gym with several overweight men, who eventually transform into attractive muscular young men. The gym setting may have been partly an attempt to divert attention from the overt sexual connotations of the term "physical". This was further emphasised by the twist comedy ending of the video, when the transformed men who are now oblivious to Newton-John's advances are ultimately revealed to be gay (this was also a source of controversy; MTV frequently cut the ending when it aired the video, and the sometimes sensuous nature of the video also led to it being banned outright by some broadcasters in Canada and the United Kingdom).

The Olivia Physical video (where "Physical" music video was included) won a Grammy Award for Video of the Year in 1983. The video was featured on Pop-Up Video on VH1 and was the first video to air on Beavis and Butt-Head, on which they changed the channel to "I Wanna Be Sedated" by The Ramones.

Wow! Do I get tired of THIS one! I don't understand what difference it makes IF Eddie is gay, but what I want to know is what proof is there for those who care so much? I mean, does EVERYBODY have to be gay and why is it so important?

Some great videos here, but why do you want to know, is there something that you find amusing about gay sounding or gay themed music videos. I am assuming by "gayest" you mean the campest and most effeminate acting with campness, drag queens, bitchiness, mincing, lisping etc. We really need to get past these stereotypes of gay men as effeminate sissies. Its 2011, lets move on, It seems some of you people still think its 1971.

Well, yeah! I assume everyone is gay until they somehow display otherwise. Otherwise, EVERYBODY has to be straight, and after all these years straight people can't seem to get themselves right, let alone the dominant culture they so poison and rule. But the Eddie Murphy one bothers me. I do wish that one could be dropped. [But I am not positive that Queer people keep this rumor alive. The vindictive and sturdy nature of this rumor seems to originate from straight culture to me.] He picked up a prostitute who turned out to be a tranny late at night, or early in the morning, to offer her a ride!!??
