The Rolling Stones to Reissue Some Girls [img:$uid]http://i.imgur.com/OVMtH.jpg?4770[/img:$uid]
September 12, 2011
In a new interview, Mick Jagger has revealed The Rolling Stones are working on a deluxe re-issue of their 1978 classic, Some Girls.
The rock legend indicated that the album will receive a treatment similar to the one bestowed last year on Exile on Main St. – which featured an extra disc of material.
As for what the Stones have in store for their 50thanniversary next year, Jagger wasn’t able to reveal – although he said he and his mates are discussing it. “Then we talked about maybe what events are going to be going around for the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones,” he said. “We don’t really know the answer to that, but we talked about it a bit.”

There's been a rumor that Bill Wyman might return to the band. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Last year, the Rolling Stones album "Some Girls" was attacked by black leaders as being racist and it seems that time has not diminished the furor over it, as it was recently the subject of a speech delivered by the Reverend Jesse Jackson at an event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Supreme Court's desegregation decision. Here to comment is Update's token sociologist, Garrett Morris. ... "Climb in my fur."

And the DVD of the 1978 Dallas concert. Oct 4th is the movie screening (this is from the official website).
The Stones have talked about playing the "front to back" of some of their classic albums, and releasing a box set of unreleased material, now that Universal has their entire catalog under one roof. The only way they'd be able to pull it off is having Mick Taylor do some of the shows. I do hope Wyman takes part.

"Some Girls" had a lot of outtakes, most of which have made the bootleg rounds, and the rest were used on "Tattoo You", including "Start Me Up", "Hang Fire", "Black Limousine". The 12" of "Miss You" is likely to be included, because they had released on "Rarities".
I don't think Mick's voice has changed all that much since the late 70s, so if he did re-record new vocals, it won't be as noticable on here the way it was on "Exile".
