i always luved bonnie raitt for her moxie and pioneering spirit as an American blues singer-songwriter. her voice has a "down home" quality that get's my full listening attention. also, i really like the way she shows respect for well-noted blues men past and present. her and john lee hooker's duet "i'm in the mood" is a great track. received a grammy for it, circa 1991.
