I wonder why this thread doesn't have more posts.
You do realize that he died on this day?
It's cool, I'm just trying to let people know.

I remember that day
Came home from school and turned to MTV News and Kurt Loder if I remember correctly was reporting it. You couldn't escape his music that week and then Makaveli came out shortly after
I bought R U Still Down (Remember Me) a couple of weeks it was released for my brother for Christmas and didn't have any problems buying it even though I was 10 [Edited 9/13/11 14:21pm] "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. That's how I received the news. And the whole time I was like "no no no..." I figured when he was shot like six days before, he would survive it. He was after all a man who took five shots so I figured "ain't no one touching that dude Pac" then he died and I was like "wow..." [Edited 9/13/11 14:23pm] | |

Probably one of the most truest interviews he ever did:

I know, but the thread had over 100 views and only three comments at that point.
It is crazy to think that he was only 25.

Been some serious timeage, about a week away from starting uni when I heard.... He wasn't the most accomplished rapper, but had more depth that anyone else I know of in the genre. And that he was so open about his contradictions, writing songs like Dear Mama and Keep Yer Head Up as well as the mindless gangsta bravado of say, Bomb First(an absolute killer tune), it just made him all the more appealing to me. Can still listen to his stuff and not get bored.
If I had to pick a favourite I'd say Bury Me A G, but outside of his active discography it's Pain. Lyrically and vocally Tupac at his most raw.

I remember it. I just knew of him from 2 songs and the t shirt my cousin had, but was shocked and remember everyone at middle school talking about it and getting to know more of his music then, same thing all over again a few months later with Notorious B.I.G. but what I remember most is people thinking he's faking it years down the road.
