Thank u for showing me the Chuck D video! Love it. So much better.
I haven't heard the rest of the Jay Z & Kanye collab. They're both talented, but that Otis song was weak. Hope the other tracks are better.

One of my associates from the Vigilant Citizen Message Board once told me exactly what Otis is REALLY all about and it has nothing to do with the late Otis Redding at all:
OTIS = Only The Illuminati Succeed
I don't know if THIS^ is for real or not. But what I do know is that the entire Kanye/Jay-Z track makes no references to Otis Redding within their lyrical content at all. Despite the Otis Redding sample, the entire music video was intended to be the ultimate memo to all of the critics (including conspiracy researchers & conspiracy theorists alike) that have successfully "figured it out" so to speak.

DUH of course it didn't have nothing to do with Otis Redding. The lyrics stated it never did.
It's just an excuse to use a legend's name in a rap. Google Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder and it's not only their own music being googled as they are themselves the names of some rap songs. Go to TUMBLR and use "Marvin Gaye" as a tag. And see what happens...
It's not rocket science.

Heard this track a little over a week ago @ a club I performed @...Joint kicked ass in there...I haven't heard anything else from the album,& I knew they couldn't have been possibly talking about Mr. Redding...But it sounds better than anything I've heard from Jay since American Gangster. I really dont get the hoopla about the song. What makes this song what it is... is the Otis Redding sample... if you take that away you have nothing because lyrics are awful anyway

I didn't get the hype over the video either I guess I'm getting old. What's so special about seeing Jay & Ye having fun? Yeah they tricked out a Maybach and had white girls featured in it but so what?

Yea the video is boring as hell and the song is just average to me. The BEST part about the song is Otis Redding but thats because I love Otis Redding lol besides that its just okay.. But you know people these days will find ANYTHING entertaining...
