Today just got so much better -- new soul queen Adele, rap royalty Lil Wayne and R&B singer Chris Brown have all confirmed performances at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awardson Sunday, Aug. 28!

Adele, whose sophomore album 21 has sold nearly 3 million copies and was the first to go platinum this year, will be celebrating her seven VMA nominations for lead single "Rolling in the Deep," including Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video. The singer, who'll be making her VMA debut, wasn't coy about her excitement, sharing on her blog that she's "flabbergasted about the VMA nominations! Thank you, thank you MTV! I'm thinking about releasing a range of chairs to celebrate!"

Joining 2011's biggest breakout star will be Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, each receiving multiple nominations. Brown's "Look At Me Now," featuring Wayne and Busta Rhymes, earned the singer a Best Hip Hop Video and Best Collaboration nomination, while his appearance on Big Sean's "My Last" helped earn Sean a Best New Artist nod. Wayne, whose heavily anticipated Tha Carter IV will be available immediately after the VMAs, grabbed a Best Hip Hop Video nomination with the Cory Gunz-assisted "6 Foot 7 Foot" in addition to "Look At Me Now."

You gonna watch this Bev? Ill probably check out a few performances. Although award shows don't get me as hyped up as used to at all. I used to watch MTV all weekend like 10-15 years ago. lol

lol It's become more of a habit than anything...I never sit through the entire show either only check a couple of performances...Adele, Beyonce and Gaga..I'm curious to see...I don't remember who else right now.

Besides we have to talk about it on the org anyway right?....Whether it's a hot mess or not.....probably the former lol and I didn't see any thread on it yet so I decided to start one.

I say we count the number of people who think they're first to post "who still watches MTV?" and "VMAs suck" responses. Yes, watching is more of a habit than anything. I've tuned in to most music award shows since the 1985 AMAs. There are usually still a couple of decent live performances which are harder and harder to come by on TV.

Honestly, I haven't watched since early 2000s. Besides, I can get the commentary on here, which is much more fun!!! #yougotjokes

Princess Britney just did an interview on the red carpet. She looks beautiful.

And Beyonce's pregnant. She just stole the whole show.

MAN GAGA! cannot dance, has an average voice. and this performance just solidified my opinion of her.

I was getting on beyonce when she(Lady gaga) is the one that needs to be got!.. Lady gaga is so wack. Now I see why she relies on gimmicks.

Sorry But Her vocals and piano skills are very average. I can go to any boardwalk and hear singers who sound as "good" as her.

People talk about her like she is this great talent when she isn't.

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you open the VMAs. Gaga has more creativity in her pinky than all the ones who they cut to watching her in the audience. Joe Calderone Forever!!!!

She just dressed in Drag. That's not really creative. Annie Lennox did it better 25 years ago, anyway!
