My Chemical Romance Fires Drummer for Stealing
My Chemical Romance Fire Drummer With Sticky FingersPosted Tue Sep 6, 2011 8:11am PDT by Caryn Ganz in Amplifier
Iero notes "this is the only time we are ever going to talk about this," so don't expect further comment from the band on the matter. He also promises the band is "currently moving forward" and they have -- MCR posted this note on Friday and played a show Saturday at Utah's USANA Amphitheatre with Dead Country drummer Jarrod Alexander, who is either a massive MCR fan or learned all the band's songs for a previous audition. Pedicone was the band's third drummer, following Bryar and original member Matt Pelissier.
An apologetic Pedicone tweeted a mea culpa Friday reading, "What happened is more complicated than it sounds but I did make a mistake. It was never my intention to hurt this band or all of you. ... It was an error in judgment based on a whole other situation that's way deeper but this does not define me." That may be so, Michael, but it will define all the web searches associated with your name for the foreseeable future.

Sadly all the man is guilty of is stealing young girls' hearts.

Not clear as to what he stole (or why)... We had hired a sound guy & assistant for a while that would rifle through pocket books left on/ near the stage for cash/ credit cards/ jewelry while girls were on the dance floor.
Just sickening that 1) they were capable of that, esp. since they were well paid enough to earn their living 2) we in part were responsible for bringing the thugs in under the premise that if they were trusted by us, they were to be trusted...
Thankfully they were spotted by one of our support crew. Can't say how long or how badly It was going on but we pulled them aside at the end of our set, all items 'admitted' as stolen were sent to the coat check as 'found' property and they were fired on the spot. (support crew keeping our trucks secure).
And yes, they were left without a ride in Southhampton, NY, as we were off to Nantucket for the next 5 shows via Orient Point ferry. Guess it gave them a lot to think about (or hate on) as they lived in Freehold, NJ...
My heart goes out to all the folks who had their privacy and valuables violated/ stolen.
Result of poor mentoring? Later on we found out that the guy we contracted them from had a motto: 'Once the lights go on, anything on the floor is yours....' My wife? She's my keel, and I'm her pesky boulder in shallow water... http://kideuphrates.wordpress.com/
