Barry White appreciation

I have been listening to alot of Barry's songs lately-such a unique, great voice! I wonder if he ever really got the recognition that such a voice deserves? I love his remake of "Volare" he did it so beautifully. From "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" to "Secret Garden"- I really miss the voice of the Maestro. Any Barry White appreciation? Pics? Vids?

I signed back on just to bow down to you - worship . Barry was a big part of my upbringing and I still listen to him today. Love the man. For real.

This was co-written with Marlon & Carol Jackson. Barry also wrote this tune.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

DJK

One of my favorite performances of his involved his "duet" with Mary J Blige in a radio only remix of "You Bring Me Joy", a 1995 tune based on the main beat to "It's Extacy When You're Next to Me."

A couple of years before the release of her greatest hits LP I sent an email that requested that they put this edition of that tune on her great hit LP but they chose otherwise.

Obviously, his new jack period was good with "Super Lover" "LA is My Kinda Place", etc.

I love Barry! "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" has a soft spot in my heart, but this will always be the definitive BW song for my money:

This is crazy. I was just jamming to some 'Practice What You Preach' earlier today. Without Barry half of us wouldn't be here lol. Teddy and Marvin are responsible for the other half haha.

I can't believe you're still struggling with that. The YouTube link needs to be wrapped in the youtube tags. It's explained to the left of the Reply box if you click on "more code help":
