I like Brenda's better. I still have the 45. I didn't really care for Mariah's version, at least not the regular one. I did like the remixes for Mariah's version, so I bought the maxi single. I think I only heard the studio mix once or twice. [Edited 9/3/11 22:44pm] You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Brenda can't sing IMO.... Mariah's trumps hers by far. I love the video as well. #CLASSICshit Stevie Wonder = EARTH

the remix wasn't all that though I love the original so much, and I bought it cause I didn't want #1's, as I had most of those songs already on her albums and was just a student.

Well,I guess I'm gonna be the one person who disagrees
I don't like Mariah's version of this song.She's an amazing vocalist but she's never been good at covering songs.I dislike every remake that I have heard by her.The original version of "I Still Believe" is superb....a wistful,effective ballad with strong vocals and great production.I consider it to be the "Wishing On A Star" of the 80s.Mariah's remake falls flat. | |
