Interscope music executive Jimmy Iovine, who served as a Season 10 mentor for American Idol contestants, is teaming up with famed photographer Raphael Mazzucco to get to the bottom of society’s infatuation with the female figure.
In a new photo book to be released by Atria Books, Iovine and Mazzucco will unveil more than 248 pages of stunning, provocative images celebrating the new trend in art, fashion and pop culture in which the female bottom is the core of sexuality, desire and empowerment.
Drawing its title from the Italian word Culo, the $65 art book was inspired by a film made by will.i.am in Brazil. With the project, Iovine aims to tastefully and creatively recognize society’s shifting ideals of physical beauty to a more authentic and bold shape.
“Interscope Records has always been a heat-seeking missile when it comes to shifts in popular culture, whether inciting them or reacting to them swiftly. The impetus for this book is a little of both,” Iovine writes in the book’s Foreword.
Adds Mazzucco: “I have enjoyed every single moment I’ve spent in the company of these breathtaking women, of having the air sucked out of the room and feeling my heart race from the sheer joy of seeing my vision come to life.”
Fans of the HBO series Entourage got a first look at the upcoming publication during the series’ Aug. 28th episode. Mazzucco, in a guest appearance, photographed main character Vince (Adrian Grenier), while artwork from the book is featured on the set and mentioned in the dialogue.
