Where are they going to be? What city I mean? I have seen these guys more than any other act I've seen.....it's like a ritual now. I see them every year. But this year I didn't see any concerts for NY or NJ. Or maybe I overlooked it. Are you in NY or NJ?

In the Dirty South. Charlotte, NC Ironically the only other time i've seen Maze was with Cheryl Lynn and the Commodores(Lionel's last tour with the band) in 1982. [Edited 9/1/11 20:38pm] Don't laugh at my funk

American Bandstand does not seem like a show that would have had them on. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

They had a few crossover hits. "Feel That Your Feeling" went to number 67 on the hot 100. Also, they were getting several top 10 r&b hits, therefore, they were a "proven" act to be on AB. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Way before he began wearing that white hat and outfit ensemble lmao!

I don't think he started REALLY wearing the white until the late 80s or early 90s. I don't remember him wearing all white the first time I saw him in 92 or 93. He wore a white shirt and everything else was black. Then the other 5 or 6 times I saw him, he wore that damn white. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

He's worn that shit for so many years you forget the year he started wearing it but yeah 1992, 1993-ish looks about accurate.

I wonder what song(s) they did? Had to be something from the debut or second album. [Edited 9/2/11 18:57pm]

That's cooler than a box of chocolates, I certainly didn't know they were on AB, what song was performed? OK, I see that JazzyJ already asked the question, who knows the answer? Jeux Sans Frontiers

A google search goes a long way.

Episode Summary Maze featuring Frankie Beverly - "Workin' Together" and "Golden Time Of Day."
Looks like it was a Capitol Records week. They had 2 projects to promote. [Edited 9/3/11 6:41am] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I thought Paul was on Columbia during this time (at least in the US, I think elsewhere his stuff was on Parlophone). You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This single was issued on Capital.

The innersleeve from "Just Can't Stop The Love" album around 1985, and various pics of the "Live in L.A." album from 1986 + the live-dvd from the same concert, are so far the earliest media which show him in his white outfit. I'd say 1985 was the year he started to expose himself with that trademark.

Maze was the shit saturday night. KeKe Wyatt and KCi and JOJo were awful and could have stayed their asses home. KeKe has a good voice but just bullshits her way through a song by talking and trying to be a comedian. She complained she wish she had a band to back her up but she was the one who signed to sing to tracks. The latter sung 3 songs before leaving and was a hot mess and abruptly ended their set after the 3rd song and the crowd was like WTF. It was definitely a Maze crowd as everyone was on their feet throughout most of the show and knew the lyrics. No one was sitting down throughout the closing songs Joy and Pain and Before I Let You Go. Made me go back and pull out Maze Capital debut. Don't laugh at my funk
