Baduizm is my LEAST favorite Erykah LP - always has been, probably always will be.

But the live album, made up primarily of those songs is JAMMING!

Which makes me think after years of listening Baduizm and trying to get into it the way I'm into New Amerykah Part 1, Mama's Gun, etc - it's the MIXING, not the songs. The mix is horrid! There is a large hiss throughout the entire cd and the funny dialogue in "Next Lifetime" and "Afro" is barely audible...what gives?

It IRKS my nerves after all these years that that album is still mostly all she's known for and the mix sounds like dookie! Yet so many people (including several on the org) still maintain that it's her BEST album, a la Urban Hang Suite, a la Brown Sugar.

I read somewhere that the only reason they did the live album (also released the same year) was because the mix of the Baduizm LP was so bad, it was their attempt to make it right....timing wise, it would make sense...
