Lionel a good saxophone player? World had forgotten that Lionel was the saxophone player for the Commodores. Many of classic sax lines were played by Lionel in studio and live. He played Sax during his tenture with the Commodores but almoust no sax on his records latter. But he nailed a beautiful sax solo at the end of his solo song"Lovers at First Sight"
So what do you think of Lionel's saxophone licks? was he funky? Did he have a nice style?
Here's the link for the 90's Lionel song in which he plays sax solo at the end of the song. the only problem is poster made the song into fade after few bars of Lionels solo,on my mp3 i have an extra minute of a very nice Solo anyway here's the link: | |

I Do!, sadly Lionel get's a lot of hate on here
But oh well i love his work WITH The Commodores & WITHOUT
His 80's albums are classic to me.
And he can get down on sax. Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

LOVED it....and the whole band in their prime. The lack of a reunion is one of the biggest shames in Pop history.
Check 'em out in this vid......total hotness, horns & all. Miss this band SO much......
