Jack White Produces Insane Clown Posse Single

Stream the new song 'Leck Mich Im Arsch'

Jack White has teamed up with Detroit horror-rappers Insane Clown Posse for a new single on White's Third Man Records. According to White and the ICP, the A-side "Leck Mich Im Arsch" is based on a lost piece of music penned by none other than Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. (The title translates to "lick me in the arse.") The 7-inch single and digital download will be backed by another track called "Mountain Girl." Insane Clown Posse - Leck Mich Im Arsch by Third Man Records

As can be expected with Third Man Records, a limited-edition variant of the vinyl single will be produced. One hundred tri-color versions of the single will be available from the Third Man Rolling Record Store at the MI Fest in Brooklyn, Michigan on September 17th, and 50 others will be randomly shipped with mail orders from the label.

You can stream "Leck Mich Im Arsch" below.

You can stream it right here if you really need to. The song is shit, though. You've been warned.

Oh my Cerebus has to be right... if this is not a joke then eek eek eek

First off why would they destroy Mozart like this? 2nd Jack must be bored, on whitney houston crack or in need for money to pay off Jimmy Page for stealing his guitar.

My first thought, honestly - swear on my vinyl collection, was that Jack must be suffering through a serious drug problem.

I've read a lot from him regarding how he feels about the 7" records that Third Man release - he doesn't take them that seriously. He just thinks its fun that he can decide on Friday to record something, press a few hundred over the weekend and released them without notice on Monday. And he can, because he has a studio and the pressing equipment right there at the Third Man headquarters. He's made it perfectly clear that most of these 7 inches will never see a second pressing. And its not even close to the first time he's released something under the "comedy" banner.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure this is funny. I also think he may have made a slight error in assuming that most people would find the humor in this (if its there, because I don't get it). ICP is for ICP fans. It just makes no sense that Jack White would have anything to do with them.

Makes as much sense as anything else I can think of. At least then I could consider it some kind of honorable. Although he would still lose some respect for making such a stupid bet to begin with. lol

Jack White Collaborates With Insane Clown Posse to Cover Mozart. For Real.

Single to be released on White's Third Man label

By Larry Fitzmaurice, August 31, 2011 10:06 a.m. CT

Wow. So, Jack White works with a lot of people on a lot of random projects, right? Well, this makes everything else sound like just another nine-to-five day at the fucking office. Are you ready? Jack White is working for everyone's favorite face-painted, Faygo-spraying hip-hop outfit, Insane Clown Posse.

A press release states that White linked up with Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J to record the single "Leck Mich Im Arsch" (allegedly translates as "Lick me in the arse"), which will go on sale as a 7" and digitally on September 13 via White's Third Man Records. "Leck Mich Im Arsch" uses a melody by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart dating back to 1782.

White produced the single, while rockers JEFF the Brotherhood provided musical backing. The B-side will be "Mountain Girl" (which concerns itself with "tall tales about a shotgun wedding, meth problems and moonshine").

When I saw the picture, I thought it was fake.

This is the same Jack White who supposedly doesn't like hip-hop, right?

As a huge fan of his, I'm definitely horrified, yet intrigued.

Like everytime I see the picture of the Juggalo Baby Funeral.

Its not fake, unfortunately. He recently released a 7" with another underground Detroit hip-hop guy, but that was actually interesting because the guy is like, ya know, good. This.. just.... ugh. I still don't get the joke. shrug ICP is just too awful. I doubt its going to hurt Jack White in any way (especially since The Raconteurs are supposedly working on a new album), but I'm pretty sure a lot of people will agree that it was a lapse in good judgment.

I don't think it's gonna negatively affect Jack's career at all. 20 years from now, it'll be some insane little footnote into his career.

I'm interested in hearing the new Raconteurs album.

I hope 1 day we get a Jack White Solo album, too.

This is the other guy, Black Milk, he released a hip-hop 7" with. I think the whole thing must have something to do with Jack wanting to stay connected, or leave something behind that relates to Detroit.

Black Milk says: "It's a pretty crazy feeling when you're going about your regular, every day routine in the studio and all of sudden you get a phone call that Jack White wants to work with you. The email to my manager came from Jack White himself. My first reaction was one of shock that an artist like him, who most people would categorize as a rock star, would want to work with an independent hip-hop artist. My second reaction was surprise that he even knew I existed, even though we're from the same city. Of course, my response was "Hell yeah! When and where do I need to be to make this happen?" A few back and forth emails led to my band (keyboardist AB; drummer Daru Jones and bassist Malik Hunter) and I taking a trip to Nashville to record at Jack's home studio.

Upon our arrival, Jack was the first person to greet us. From our brief discussion about music and things of that nature, I learned he discovered my music through the "Deadly Medley" video. Jack, a team of his musicians, my band and I wasted no time starting a jam session. I immediately felt the pressure of having to create two great songs in two days. Not only were we able to produce two tracks that we felt were great, but we were able to capture our individual sounds. I was prepared to follow Jack's direction with the songs, but not long into the creative process it became clear that he wanted me to take the lead role as the producer. For a guy who is so well-respected and musically accomplished to humbly step into the recording room as one of many musicians and to trust me as the producer to do what I do best was pretty crazy and such an honor.

The jam sessions were recorded to tape, all on the first day. On the second day, I chose two of them to write to and spit my verses back to back. No "edit, undo" like recording digitally in Pro-Tools. On the third and final day, we toured Third Man Records (the most amazing place ever), shot photos for the project cover and sound checked for our show later that night. It was a great performance for an amazing crowd, but the craziest part of the night was seeing (and hearing) Jack White in the crowd, cheering us on like a fan and seeming to have more fun than everyone. As a bonus, the live show was recorded to tape (Black Milk Live at Third Man Records), and will be released on vinyl.

The time we spent in Nashville collaborating with Jack White was one of the greatest moments in my music career. It not only inspired me to continue to work hard as a producer, but also confirmed that staying true to my art, without compromise, can manifest into the type of rewards that money can't buy.

As much of an explanation as we're likely to get.

Insane Clown Posse: Jack White 'Arse' Single was 'Collaboration in the Fullest Sense'

Insane Clown Posse: Jack White 'Arse' Single was 'Collaboration in the Fullest Sense'

The members of Insane Clown Posse were a bit disappointed -- at first -- when they found out what Jack White had in mind for "Leck Mich Im Arsch," their new collaborative single on White's Third Man Records label.

"He explained to us the song was basically called 'Lick My Ass,' and we went, 'Ah, figures. 'Lick My Ass' featuring ICP,' " the Detroit rap duo's Violent J tells Billboard.com. "We like to think there's more of a method to our madness. We don't just do songs with a dumb name. But once (White) explained to us how (Mozart) had a sense of humor and everything, and we saw how excited (White) was about it, that got us fired up, and we really got into it."

Violent J says it was White who reached out to ICP earlier in the summer for the session, which took place in mid-July at the Third Man studios in Nashville. J had met fellow Detroit native White once before, when they crossed paths at an airport. "I felt a little stupid talking to him because he was in a hurry," J recalls, "but I told him who I was and he stopped and gave me a warm acknowledgement, and we kind of chatted and then went our ways and that was it." And J, of course, was curious as to why White wanted to collaborate with ICP at all -- "The most respected musician in the world and one of the most hated musicians in the world. We didn't expect that call, brother."

"I told him, 'I gotta know -- why us?' " J says. "He said, 'I find myself going to your web site and looking at it. Some stuff I think is genius, some stuff I don't understand at all, but I always find myself going back there and seeing what you're up to.' And he told us that nobody got the kind of reaction he got from his friends in the industry when he told them he was going to do a song with us. He said people were like, 'What? You're kidding me.' That's what got him excited. His exact quote was, 'We could've done a song with Megadeth and it wouldn't be as talked-about as us working with you guys.' That's crazy awesome."

Violent J says he, Shaggy 2 Dope, ICP producer Mike E. Clark and guitarist Legs Diamond were pleased to be treated like equals during the "Leck Mich Im Arsch" session with White -- who J says did not perform on the actual recording -- and the rock duo JEFF the Brotherhood. "It was cool because it was definitely his deal, but he took our suggestions and used them to the fullest," J recalls. "The hardest thing was rapping over that music, 'cause it didn't sound like a typical rap beat at all, or a loop or anything we're used to. Once we asked him to kind of bring the drums up and got the basic structure where the rap would go, then it was easy. So it was really a collaboration in the fullest sense."

The session also yielded a second, ICP-dominated song called "Mountain Girl," but the duo passed on doing a video for "Leck Mich Im Arsch." "We asked if Jack was gonna be in the video and they said no, so we turned it down," J explains. "We don't want to confuse people into thinking that's ICP's new single off our new album, 'cause we'd do things a little differently if it was just our song." ICP has offered to perform the song with the Third Man crew at the MI Fest on Sept. 17 in Brooklyn, Mich., -- where White is playing with the Raconteurs and also curating a Third Man stage -- and is waiting to hear back.

Meanwhile, ICP -- which is mixing "The Mighty Death Pop," which is due in early 2012 -- is also monitoring the reaction to the White collaboration, which has been polarized to say the least. "People seem to be up in arms," Violent J says. "Some people are straight up mad about it -- mad at him, mad at us. It's not like it's on his new album or we're forming a new supergroup; this is a rare 45, a collectible, something different. You have to seek it out to find it. I don't know why people would be upset at us or at him. It's just a really cool collaboration."
