Is it me or did Timberland seem out of it? He was slurring his words and Missy barely talked, seemed she and Timbaland couldn't really stand to be in the same room and Dame Dash looked a HOT ass mess. He has lost weight and doesn't look good

Yeah...I thought the same thing too. I know Dame is really going thru some tough times right now

so that's probably why he looks bad.

I think that whole camp has never been the same (or on good terms) since her passing.

Dame looks like drugs got ahold of him. Timberland looked like he was on meds and Missy, oddly quiet.

It's gotta be awk ward to pay public tribute to an artist they worked with in the late 90s, when time has passed and they are suffering other current personal hardships and ebbing careers.

To be honest the special overall wasn't that great. I would love to hear from R.Kelly, Kidada Jones and Nicole Richie

I thought I saw it on 24wired.tv. It's a 24 hour video channel.

No shade to Aaliyah but it was the same tired ass documentary that they been doing on. I enjoyed hearing about her dancing skills and the actual video shoot from Fatima. Everybody else was just rehashing old shit. Damon Dash could have left his bum ass out of it. lol confused confused

Should have been a musical tribute with her peers Monica, Brandy, Kelly Rowland, Usher, Tyrese, Marques Houston and the ones who has followed in her footsteps from Keri Hilson to Ciara to JoJo singing her songs and saying a word or 2 of what she meant to them. confused EBT sucks ass.

Missy probably sounded like that cause she is suffering from an illness where moving her muscles including her mouth and hands bothers her

I've heard before Timbaland was not the same after her death with the producing, but I really love his productions from 2006-2009, most of them, I guess now he is tired from that

I didn't think of others talking about her but that would have been cool. Though it looks like Ciara was inspired, she admitted a few years ago she didn't really grow up on Aaliyah...LOL

I just watched a little bit of the clip. I'm sorry, but it was laughable the way they tried to make her career/legacy more than it really is/was.Oh the legacy of "Back and Forth" and "If your girl only knew"...Come on now.

Might as well do the stories of Mya and Monica too.

Im sure she was a lovely person, but the post mortem treatment is way overblown.

I don't remember either of those songs all over radio at all, but they were all over r&b/urban music programs and stations and at parties with my peers where we played r&b/hip hop and she was more for the urban audiences. And I knew of Brandy and Monica before Aaliyah's musc.

It's a plastic card handed out by Social Services, you receive a monthly stipend of cash and or food stamps. You use it like a debit/credit card.

Oh, I know what an EBT card is. I was just wondering if it was a typo error or he/she just gave it a new meaning lol

It describes the piss poor and lackluster quality of what BET has turned into. Its on welfare/ life support from the old glory days when you could catch the latest in urban culture. And I'm a he. lol razz

Sorry sir, I stand corrected lol, but I agree with you BET has gone downhill. When Robert Johnson sold it to Viacom, it was through disbelief

Ive said nothing about specific awards/rankings. I am talking about musical legacy, of which both Monica and Aayliah's is minimal at best. If you want to throw Brandy in there too, sure. None of them is really befitting of the waxing poetic that folks have done over Aaliyah. That was the larger point of my comment.

I thought the 1hr special was decent. Missy & Timb seem normal to me. It was good to hear from the Choreographer and producers. I wasnt expecting them to play the videos but that brought back memories..Aailiyah's voice was her own and that made her unique. She was so Beautiful..

my question is how relevant is Aaliyah these days. was the speacial meant to honor her memory or her music. she always seemed a minor figure to me,she was to rkelly what vanity was to prince. of course she had better overall sales but i was managing a record store during the 90's and she seemed a minor figure overall.

what did i miss?
