First, why would they lie about their ages? That's odd.

Second, it would be pretty hard for Beyonce to lie about her age since you can basically trace her entire life through performances captured on video.

well, it was Prince saying this PERSONALLY but his publicist from the record company put out that his age was 17 (?) I think or maybe 18. When actually Prince was in his early 20s when his debut album came out. and also they lied about how old Susan was.

In both cases, it made their success in music appear that much more impressive because of their young age.

Likewise, Beyonce may have lied because it would garner more attention if she had the stage presence and voice at the tender age of 14 instead of 19.

Not saying this is what actually happened... just giving a plausible reason.

For Jay Z, maybe he would not have appealed to his demographics if he started out as a rapper in his 30s instead of in his 20s.

Her lying about waiting until she is forty was weird. I'm not a fan of hers. But i am very happy for her. She did it the right way. Dated ,got married then got pregnant. That performance with Prince was simply magic, I regret not taping it that night. I felt like the 4 NYC concerts possibly meant no tour this time and possibly making time to have a family or focusing on movies.

right, I was just saying to someone, her image says one thing... but actions speak louder.... Beyonce is really a good little church girl at heart. She was a daddy's girl until she married an alpha male. She didn't really go a lot of dating around either.

Beyonce always struck me as very phoney in interviews.That is why I'm not a fan. Its just something that is devilish about her. That whole Destiny's Child musical chairs spoke volumes to me.
