My latest mix is for my mother, Ann Drummond: December 17, 1945 - August 28, 2007
It's the anniversary of my mother's death and I'm feeling kinda blue y'all. Anyway, it's time to lift my spirits, play some music, and celebrate the wonderful woman she was. She was not only my mother but my best friend. She loved us but she didn't play either and the road parted like the Red Sea when they saw that yellow Cadillac coming because they knew she was hell on wheels and looking for her children who were up to no good.
This mix is my send-off to her, not in some dull ass traditional way that so many people do when remembering loved ones who have gone on to a better life. This mix will make you party, shake ass, clap your hands, and cry all at the same time.
It's time to for me to give it up to the one and only Miss Ann Drummond. Yes, Drummond, not Burns. She kept the Burns name for credit and legal reasons but we gave her the gift of burying her in her real name and erased that horrible stain that my father had put at the end of her name.
Rest in peace Dorothy Ann Drummond: December 17, 1945 - August 28, 2007

Vainandy, this is an absolutely beautiful send off. Your mom would be proud. I'm still listening, however once I heard Howard Hewitt's song I knew I needed to respond. Just Beautiful. Peace.

A jubilant and touching mix, Andy.
She must have been quite a lady. I'm sorry for your loss. Peace. Funk Is It's Own Reward | |
