LOL that was a funny read. But even if you don't like Beyonce, only someone ignorant would not sense how much sexism there is in her paragraph. It's okay if this reviewer doesn't like her or thinks she did it for publicity, but to call belly rubbing awkward, or even worse CREEPY is extremely sexist and offensive to her, as a woman. Just FYI, I would say this about any woman being insulted this way. It could be Miley Cyrus who I hate, and my opinion wouldn't change.

Sexism? What?

I just found the blogger's word choice rude and unnecessary, that's all.

honestly it was a little awkward when beyonce rubbed her stomach. Its like if she didn't open up her jacket I would not know she was pregnant. You really couldn't tell she was pregnant. Its like she purposely EMPHASIZED IT for attention.

They some how conveniently left out the part of britney going in for the kiss and her lip quivering. THAT WAS THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING!!!

It says a lot when you have middle school kids tributing you and not your peers.

Britney is not an icon, everyone knows that, but she entertained for many years, but I already wrote essays about that, and whether we admit it or not, we all like a video or song or hers.

I already knew she was pregnant, she announced it on the carpet. Did you also personally find it creepy? And if your answer is yes, I'm curious about your reasons.

A blogger could have said Beyonce hair was a mess and you would have found something offensive about that. Their just OPINIONS. I didnt find anything disrespectful about the comments. Its clear the point of Beyonce rubbing her stomach she wanted people to know she was pregnant. Everyone is going to have mixed reactions and not feel the same way.

Sexism give me a break lol

Thats not alot compared to past years and that is the number of people that TUNED in that doesnt mean they watched the entire show.

Actually it is a lot compared to past years. Last night was the most watched VMA's ever.

Not by much compared to last year and Ima research myself the exactly ratings because their all not credible.

My point is MTV has no cultural impact as far as a music channel and relevance to music. They have to do controversial things that has nothing to do with MUSIC in order to get ratings it is a joke

I didn't find it creepy, NO way. I found it calculated and planned. Beyonce wanted to get the most attention and it worked. But thats beyonce she wants to feel like she is the most important celebrity at every award show. Its like now her album is not doing well, her singles are tanking. This would be the perfect time to get pregnant.

I read an article that is close to 3 months pregant. So really she didn't have to make an announcement.

Ok, that's all I wanted to know, cause I was addressing this when I brought up the blogger's comments.

However, I do really believe she was proud and that she is not the first or last to use publicity for baby announcements or anything else in her career, whether I agree with this show being the appropriate medium or not. It wasn't that long ago I was upset that Artist of the Milennium was planned. I was willing to support Artist of the Decade, but felt that the egotistical part of her or her management gave her that title instead when it was already used for someone else. I feel I can still like her casually and be critical of her, but this time I felt happy for her even if she used publicity. She had been saying for years anyway she'll have a child around 30, and many female artists had children when their sales went down anyway around her age.

But i think its more the calculating moves, its not her its just the climate and those who made the climate what it is. Everything is HYPE and has been now for almost 15-20 years, scary but true. In this day of Twitter and Facebook and all that nonsense PEOPLE by in large think they "matter" when in reality they dont, there are people on twitter that post shit about walking down the fucking street...i mean really, tweet me when you get hit by a truck, then maybe i will care, its all nonsense and why i dont take any of it seriously, i cant get anxious over anything now that is happening because its SO HYPED i dont care when it happens, we even HYPE hurricanes, i mean just give alerts and news, shit, 24/7 on this storm was just too much, YES better safe than sorry in places like NYC but god damn, i dont need an update of the storms movements between 2:30 and 2:35. and then hearing govt officials plugging phone apps for hurricanes? really?? does anyone realize how its called a "SmartPhone" and yet people with it are pretty fucking dumb! they have google maps, gps and every other app for directions and still cant figure out that 8th avenue comes after 7th in manhattan, i mean is there going to be an app on how to take a shit on the smart phone? i mean really the more advanced the tech gets the dumber the public gets. HERE IT IS for directions, WALK one way if the street goes up and you want down, turn the fuck around and walk the other way, walking is good excercise for the public where 70% are fat asses. Sorry for the rant BUT its all related to dumbing of the "so called" talent, and how its pushed to the dumb dumb as spit public.

The problem is most people cant think for themselves and rely on the media to think for them. They dont question or challeged what is being put in front of them. They believe everything lol

Its so bad now they will hype up anything and people will run out and buy it, see it, watch it etc... thats the idiotic society we live in.

and the whole APP thing drives me nuts, because im thinking "why is everyone so freaking lost"? i mean here in NYC its pretty simple to find stuff, 95% of streets are numbered as are the avenues? so why now are people more freaking lost than before and YET have more to help them? thats even more scary, the tech is there too help and yet the reliance on it, makes one dumber and dumber.

Right, I hear ya

I think if people use their own resources and learn to do things for themself, think for themself etc the mind limits is endless. One of the most enriching thing about life is being able to use that intellect upstairs which alot of folks dont do. They rely so heavily on material things and nonscence because they feel something is missing in their life or their missing something if they dont conform because everyone is doing it.

Me personally, I get more out of thinking for myself and doing things for myself even if I do mess up thats what life is about. I rather do me than be brainwash..so glad I learned that concept early on. lol

yeah i mean people SO want to NOT be put out of there way because they think there time is so precious, but 9 times out of 10 when i get asked directions in NYC its by someone holding a damn smartphone searching! Its frustrating cause you just wanna say, its 50/50 you walk the right way or wrong way, its not that bad, many times ive found places that i never knew in NYC by walking the wrong way!

The reason why people don't think for themselves or question what is put in their face is because they will be ostracized/scrutinized for it.

Look at this forum for example. when everyone is posting pretty much the same thing and someone has a contrasting view or question it, then thats when the arguments start.

So really you get punished for thinking for yourself.

@Lastdecember

Using and App is not making someone dumb. Its basically like using a virtual map. I doubt if they have printed out a map they would be in any better position. Its just people now a days are lazy and don't pay attention.

and the people who make those Apps are getting PAID!!!! lol wink

How the tables have turned now on how 20 years ago, being tech-savvy made you a geek, and now not being one makes you an outcast. I got rid of facebook recently and I don't miss it. I have a twitter account that I only check few times a year, I ALWAYS hated the idea of twitter and thought it was stupid how celebs were tweeting during childbirth instead of enjoying the moment, but got it for keeping up with Jackson family members updates though now I couldn't care less. And though I have apps on my phone, I don't have a large amount, and if I use mapquest, it's only for if I'm going somewhere new,and get VERY irritated with people who don't know basic Toronto roads and highways and their order, and how to solve problems when getting lost by simply knowing N.E.W.S. and they get annoyed with me for knowing and coming off as a human GPS, especially if it's guys.

Stop It, your making to much sense lol

This mentality goes beyond a message forum into reality. I am so sick and tired of this. As soon as someone voices their opinion that goes against the grain they are deemed as a trouble maker or someone with a problem because they dont have the same opinion as everyone else.

What I find funny is though when people ask for people to be an indiviual but then scolds them when they express their opinion.

Its like people make it seem everyone are robots and all programmed to act, think, look the same way and that is true for some people because believe it or not their are robots that roam among us lol

At the end of the day people have to face themselves.

I liked Gaga's open, but the whole Joe thing got tiring as the evening went on.

I don't think Beyonce was lipping, maybe on the high notes but it seemed live to me! She was the highlight of the night IMO.

Adele was good, but same old same old.

I like how the Britney tribute turned into a fucking Beyonce intro... lol

LOVE Young The Giant! I saw them open for Marina and the Diamonds last summer they are fantastic!

5 dumbest moments from the Video Music Awards

VMA

1) Beyon awkwardly rubs pregnant belly on live television. B stole last night's show by revealing she and Jay-Z are expecting a bun in the million-dollar oven. She kicked off her performance bystating, "I want you to feel the love that's growing inside of me," before launching into a lackluster 1960s-style R&B show. She ended the ditty by unbuttoning her jacket and creepily rubbing her belly for the camera.

5) The chick with the broken foot. A singer I've never heard of was sitting on stage all night with the house band. After randomly breaking into song at every commercial, I found out that her name is Jessie J, thanks to the Twitter trending topics.

Seriously? I thought her belly rub was adorable! It gave me such a huge smile!

Don't they have an in house musician every year? I remember the same stuff being said of Wale two years ago. I like it! it's a nice was to transition in and out of commercials similar to Late Night talk shows. What was the big deal about it?

Also I loved Jay Z refusing to clap for Chris Brown.

And Katy Perry basically sucking Adele's dick.

Sorry for the rant BUT its all related to dumbing of the "so called" talent, and how its pushed to the dumb dumb as spit public.

clapping clapping Aint that the TRUTH! Especially the bolded part nod

I think Bruno is great, he can dance, sing, but no where near Prince. His music is not that great imo, he doesn't have the personality, energy, originality like Prince.

note: that I stated wants to be the new Prince. Wanting and being the new Prince are 2 different things.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
