Larkin Arnold - what do you know Larkin Arnold, or Doctor Unsung as I now call him... this man just showed up in the Mary Wells episode of Unsung. He was in the Sylvers and the Teena Marie episodes as well. He seems to have an incredible knack for helping artists leaving a label under a negative cloud to work it out at Epic Records. He "heard she (Teena) was unhappy at Motown. I went down to Englewood looking for her and everyone pointed to this little one bedroom apartment." He was a little shocked at this because "she had all these hits." "Motown did her wrong." [He could have said this about both Teena and Mary, and actually helped them both regroup after leaving Motown.] Before I check him out on the internets I would love to hear what orgers know/feel about him. | |

Why would you come here and ask first before doing a google search on Mr. Arnold? (just curious)
I don't know that much about him as a person, but his musical resume is incredible.

It is not that deep. I am just as curious about your question. I was actually just interested in what folks on this board think or know of him, and how he may be percieved by music lovers at large. I think my curiosity for him has been brewing for so long that I didn't want to get some rote narratives online. And see, you have provided a lot of what I am interested in already. "I don't know that much about him as a person, but his musical resume is incredible." Yep. I have been observing him for years. He usually is billed as an Executive Producer. Thanks for including the youtube/M Jackson interview - I am going home form work soon and will be listening to it. And also, thanks for posting the Luther cover - could he be more adorable and compelling?

From my understanding, he signed Luther to CBS/Epic Records in 79 or 80. He served as executive producer on "Never Too Much" as well as LOTS of other projects. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
