Who am I defending? I don't believe Omar is Janet's son but I do believe (like many people) she had a baby. I mean this is the same woman who hid a 10 year relationship. Lets not be so naive

^right. That is why I don't understand why people get this attitude that it is utterly ridiculous that Janet would have secrets. The only reason we ever found out the truth was because courts got involved ( in the divorce)

Same here. I lived in Toledo and the rumor was that Janet and James got married in Toledo because there is no waiting period in Ohio. I remembered either George Clinton, or someone in his band eloped in Toledo for the same reason so it is not unreasonable to believe that Janet and James married in Toledo.

Anywhoo, the article mentioned that Janet was in the "family way" and would be leaving Fame. And there was jokes that Penny was all grown up now and married and having a baby.

So I don't doubt that Janet was preggers and I mean in her third trimester... she couldn't hide it anymore.

Then she and James got divorce, she spent time in "Europe" the place people used to go when they want to hide out after cosemetic surgeries, dry out clinics etc.

Then I saw Janet on the cover of it was either Ebony or Essence... she wore white and had colored contacts...they were green. She looked beautiful and she was slimmer. In the article she clarified things in her marriage to James... like the fact she did not buy him a mercedes,that was HER mercedes he was driving around town in... and the fact that discussing that whole period in her life was very hard to do. And she was evasive.

I just remembered thinking "what happened to the baby". I have always thought Janet had a baby. Why would she want to hide it? I dunno know... I don't for the life of me know why she wanted to hide marriage to Rene.

I always think of miscarriage where the pregnancy is less than 6 months along. Janet was bigger than that. But I never considered a stillborn... which is pregnancy farther along than 6 months but the fetus doesn't survive. It is then called a stillborn.

I agree. If Janet/James have a child(and that's a big if) why hide it? What would be the purpose? None that I can think of. . I'm with you, I don't think there is a child/children. Just a young woman who happens to gain weight when she's stressed out. And, that definitely was the case with her. Wouldn't you being stressed out if you were living with your family, who don't approve of your marriage/your husband had a drug problem?JMHO

I think Janet had a baby also. She was a presenter on one of music award show I wanna say it was the AMA and the showed a backstage side view of her and she definitely had a baby hump. The dress was blue and black if my memory is correct it had to be around 83'-84'ish. Are those shows archived?

why do people say janet hid a 10 year relationship? rene was right there in public view, who didnt know they were a couple? she tried to keep the marriage a secret but if anybody paid attention there were people calling him her husband long before the divorce, hell latoya came right out and said they were married during her talk show tour.when it comes to things like pregnancies, abortions,miscarriages,ect i really dont think other people should reveal that info, the debarge family are out of line for always bringing this up. james n janet dont talk about it publicly so nobody else should. etterlene debarge is crazy and a hypocrite, she always talkin that religious stuff yet she go to tabloids and spread gossip.

It was OBVIOUS that they were LIVING TOGETHER as "man and wife"(that's called "common-law marriage".) The only thing that was not obvious is that she and Rene were LEGALLY married. Everything else was obvious and I am tired of people acting as if she HID the RELATIONSHIP. She didn't. This would only have been considered secret if we hadn't known about them being together and living together. Everybody and their mama KNEW that Janet and Rene were TOGETHER.

I agree with what you said. I just wrote a post saying basically the same thing about this so-called "secret" relationship. How could it be secret when Janet and Rene were a couple and seen everywhere TOGETHER? They acted like man and wife and were living as man and wife.

Many people have claimed to have actually seen her in person while in this state. No, not those I've seen Elvis type of sightings, but legit claims. I don't think this one will ever go away. It will be discussed for years to come.

Instead of constantly gossipping about a "secret grandchild" that may or may not exist,I think Etterlene needs to be more concerned with her own children and the many problems that they're dealing with.Yes,they're all grown but I think they could still use her love,guidance and advice right now.Focus on that.

He let people think he was Michael’s kid. Jackson liked to tell intimates that Omer was his secret illegitimate son; none of it was true. It was just Michael’s fantasy and it was sad.

As far as Janet Jackson goes, I do feel bad for her. For years a persistent rumor circulated that she had a secret child that been raised by her sister, Rebbie. Now it’s this thing. Janet has no children, and I’m sure it’s frustrating to keep reading these crazy stories. Omer Bhatti quite likes it, though, because it perpetuates his connection to Michael Jackson.

Her weight's always been up and down. She was taking birth control pills during her marriage to James, hence the major weight gain.

Yeah, I remembered a interview on a late night talk show where Rene was there and the interviewer asked them when were they going to get married.

Rene started to speak and then Janet answered something... I can't remember what she said, but I know what she DID not say.... that they were already married.

I highly suspected then that they were already married, but Janet wanted it to remain private. That is cool, and understandable. But the fact it, she was not forthcoming. So I don't understand why people act shocked when people believe that she is hiding other things.

These orgers kill me with some of these emoticons in silly attempts to discredit other people's posts; people get so caught up in their projections onto celebrities that they can never consider the possibility that sometimes they have secrets or certain aspects of their lives that the general public have no clue about. Lord knows I've been around enough celebrities to know that they all have secret corners to their lives that no one outside of their immediate circles are privy to. As a result I never rule out any possibilities when these these wacky ass stories from the world of Hollyweird surface. I'm not saying that there is a child, but I can assure you my memory and vision are just fine, and thus I stand wholly and completely by what I say about seeing preggo photos in some old black music magazines. Whether anyone likes it or not.

I don't understand why she just didn't say "Yeah,Rene and I are married".Why the need to deny that? exactly. I think some celebrities make it worst (by design). Look at Madonna... she jogs on the streets of NYC. Had 2 kids and ID both fathers... no big controversy... no papparazi stalking her kids. Totally NORMAL. When people conceal and outright lie... it just fans the flames. Maybe this is by design.

At any rate, I don't understand why she didn't just say we are already married. I got the feeling that Rene sure wanted to say something before Janet smoothly responded to the answer.

And like Ottensen said... I know what I saw too. Janet had a pregnancy bump bigger than what Beyonce is showing now. On the show Fame, she wore a lot of jumpers with the skinny belt hanging around her waist and the belt drooped down. it used to be the style. Anyway, that was the first that I noticed that she had a pouch in there.

Then the next show, her character sat down a lot or would be standing behind a stack of books etc. Soap opera fans recogninze these are strategies used when an actress is pg and the pregnancy is not written in the show.

Finally, she had her last scene on the show... that was late spring. By summer I read in my hometown newspaper that Janet was joining the ranks of expectant moms and would not be on the next season of Fame because she was in the family way.

exactly. I think some celebrities make it worst (by design). Look at Madonna... she jogs on the streets of NYC. Had 2 kids and ID both fathers... no big controversy... no papparazi stalking her kids. Totally NORMAL. When people conceal and outright lie... it just fans the flames. Maybe this is by design.

At any rate, I don't understand why she didn't just say we are already married. I got the feeling that Rene sure wanted to say something before Janet smoothly responded to the answer.

And like Ottensen said... I know what I saw too. Janet had a pregnancy bump bigger than what Beyonce is showing now. On the show Fame, she wore a lot of jumpers with the skinny belt hanging around her waist and the belt drooped down. it used to be the style. Anyway, that was the first that I noticed that she had a pouch in there.

Then the next show, her character sat down a lot or would be standing behind a stack of books etc. Soap opera fans recogninze these are strategies used when an actress is pg and the pregnancy is not written in the show.

Finally, she had her last scene on the show... that was late spring. By summer I read in my hometown newspaper that Janet was joining the ranks of expectant moms and would not be on the next season of Fame because she was in the family way.

Exactly.Madonna has never tried to hide her children or her marriages.What's the point? I remember when Michael used to make his kids wear masks in public to hide their identity that was sad and totally unnecessary.
