Best Movie Soundtrack of All Time?

In your opinion, what's the best movie soundtrack of all time? I think I'll start by saying Carlito's Way (1993), here's a clip from that amazing soundrack! Sorry I still don't know how to paste youtube links with the first frame showing (I suck) lol

More a fan of "soundtracks" utilizing the work of classic orchestral film composers.

Being a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock films...

...Psycho

...Vertigo

...North By Northwest

Tension-meister Bernard Herrmann might be my favorite film score composer.

The classic...

...Citizen Kane

...The Day The Earth Stood Still

...A medley of other Bernard Herrmann scores
(Cape Fear, Obsession, Twisted Nerve, The Wrong Man, On Dangerous Ground, Farenheit 451, The Night Digger, The Kentuckian, Sisters, Battle of Neretva, Mysterious Island, Jane Eyre, The Man Who Knew Too Much)

He also scored a few Ray Harryhausen stop-animation films.
(Jason and the Argonauts, Mysterious Island, The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

If you've seen Dirty Harry movies, then you've heard Lalo Schifrin's work.
(He scored everyone except The Enforcer)

Other Schifrin works...

...Cool Hand Luke

...Bullitt

...THX 1138

...The Amityville Horror

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Dimitri Tiomkin scored a few of the early Alfred Hitchcock films but he was better know for Westerns

...Dial M for Murder

Quincy Jones...

...In Cold Blood

Duke Ellington...

...Anatomy of a Murder

György Ligeti's contribution to the film 2001: A Space Odyssey...

...Lux Aeterna

Hey "The Audience" there's tons of orchestral compositions in Carlito's Way, here's one of my favorite ones. They really blend the pop/disco/salsa and the orchestral compositions well in the movie. Again, sorry that I can't figure out how to paste the youtube with the frame showing:

The orchestral soundtrack for the last Star Trek movie was most excellent.

Yes, the USA version. lol It's the 1st one I had and I like the George Martin instrumentals which are not on the British version.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Yeah,I'm gonna have to go with this one lol I can't think of a bigger, more powerful movie soundtrack than this one.The Bee Gees' songs are just as important as the actors in the movie. The songs practically steal the show! This is not only the soundtrack to an extremely successful film,it is the soundtrack of an entire era.The impact of this soundtrack was unlike anything I had ever seen.

Entertainer

I love:

The Preacher’s Wife- I listen to TPW from Oct to Nov but still play, ‘I believe in you and me’ and ‘Joy’ throughout the year

Waiting to Exhale- every single track is great

The BodyGuard- love this but many of the songs are overplayed. I love the live performances.

To post a YouTube video:

1. Write "[ youtube ]" (without the spaces)

2. Paste the entire URL or just the section after v=

3. Write "[ / youtube ]" (again, without the spaces)

Simple.
