Yeah, but it's not like it's totally cut and dried. LaFace were definitely doing their version of NJS back then... it's kinda hard to argue against, say, "Don't Be Cruel" being given that label.

That being said, I've come to use the term New Jack Swing to refer specifically to Teddy-produced or -arranged projects and I prefer Swingbeat (the popular term in the UK) for the rest.

FWIW, I consider "Baby Be Mine" NJS, but nothing else from Blackstreet. Off the top of my head, I think "Right Here/Human Nature" was the final big NJS hit.
