i think it's telling that diana has never really addressed her backbiting comments, b/c once you start to dignify the statements with comment, where does it end? did diana take advantage of the opportunities she was presented with, up to and including sleeping w/barry gordy to get where she wanted to go? yes. would many have done the same? yes. is it kinda shady? yes. but it wouldn't have gotten her anywhere if she didn't possess her own talent and drive to achieve what she wanted. the woman is crazy talented as we were discussing on the lstb v. mahogany thread. she didn't owe it to mary to stay in the supremes.

if mary had had that certain 'something', none of what diana did would have mattered and mary could have possibly equalled or eclipsed diana's fame. but she didn't. she may have been better looking than diana, but diana has that 'it' factor that mary doesn't have.

Exactly. Mary Wilson just didn't have the "it" factor so she had to make her own mark past releasing her biography. There seem to be some bitterness that Mary has had and it's festered for so long. I think for people to dismiss Diana's talent/success just to big up Mary or Florence is disrespecting the overall legacy of the Supremes.

Best R&B song (Twice)

Best Rap/sung Collaboration

Best R&B vocal performance (Twice)

Best Contemporary R&B Album (Three times)

Best R&B group vocals (Twice)

Song Of The Year

Best Female Pop vocal performance

Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance

Not all of the awards she won are exactly big ones, to put it in perspective would you expect her to lose most of these?

In '07, she was up against Chris Brown was Here, 20 Y.O. by Janet, Kelis was Here, and In My Own Words by Ne-Yo

Last Year, she was up against Jamie Foxx Intuition, Pleasure P The Introduction of Marcus Cooper, Ready by Trey Songz, and T-Pain's Three Ringz.

Looks like she didn't have much competition to me.
