Why has she been snubbed like this ..has an amazing catelogue of music ..both solo and with the supremes..the first real black female supersar some would argue that she has been as or more influential to the world of music than aretha..but yet gets now love from the grammy board..why is this??

In her era it's quite possible black artists weren't really getting grammy's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems like the only excuse to me.

GRAMMY will always have its favorite artists. Sheryl Crowe has 10+ Grammys and I think she should have received an Invitation to all the Ceremonies and nothing more...

I believe the Godfather of Soul only won a "Grammy Legend" award. He never received an award for any of his R&B hits...Crazy...Now his International endorsement deals were off the Motha'Fuckin chain...He raked in Millions...I bet his Tired-Ass Kids still fighting over WHEN to bury his body...

Rod Stewart had to produce an Album of "Standards" in order to garner his First Grammy years ago...How sad...

It took the GRAMMYS 1,000 years to extend an Invitation to Mr. Lips & the Rolling Stones...

My perception is Diana Ross has never been liked by the Grammy Committee. I'm not sure if it's because of what people think they know about The Supreme / Diana Ross & The Supreme's drama or that she has a huge EGO. Diana has a *horrible* reputation in the industry for being uber-pretentious, difficult and demanding. When you take into consideration that Grammy's are voted on by a committee of music industry insiders, it's no surprise that she's been snubbed -- if she, perhaps, rubbed some of them the wrong way at some point.

The Grammys are voted on by fellow artists, producers, engineers and most of the time they get it right. It is not the People's Choice Awards voted on by fans or the Americna Music Awards (voted on by certain sampling audience).

The Grammys are like the Oscars, the Emmys and the Tonys - voted on by your 'peers'.

The Grammys totally snubbed him, that's why Stevie gave up one of his Grammy's, he did that as a protest despite his "media darling" reputation at the time.

The Grammy's have always been a joke. Diana should've had at the very least one Grammy. On the other hand, Aretha doesn't deserve all of those Grammy's that she has either. Whether Diana had a big ego or was a bitch during her time should have no bearing on a good body of recording work.

You ALWAYS for some reason seem to defend Beyonce on counts where it is obvious alot of her success is very fixed and filled with politics. I mean seriously... for crying out loud .. YES Beyonce Grammys count has alot to do with legendary artists such as Diana and countless others who exactly has put out classic material, music but yet an artist like Beyonce hasnt done that and makes terrible music, yes that has to do with alot of things and sadly shows how much this music industry is fucked up.
