Earlier morning August 19, Teairra Marí, born Teairra Marquisha Thomas, was arrested in Beverly Hills for drunk driving after crashing her car and assaulting a police officer, according to reports.

The 23- year- old R&B singer was driving a silver Infiniti around Beverly ills, CA around 3 AM PST when she "rear-ended the car in front of her."

Police "observed 'signs of intoxication' from Teairra" and continued to arrest her for a DUI. As she was being handcuffed Teairra was "combative" and resulted in a police officer suffering a "minor cut" on his hand.

Teairra Marí was in custody and held on $50,000 bail till being released at 1:10 on Friday.

EXACTLY^^^^ I wonder if her first name is Marquisha. She's not well known because she was dropped from the Def Jam label headed by Jay-Z a few years back. Rhianna was also signed at the same time and its not hard to figure out who was selling more records and seemed more marketable. Im surprised she was pulled over in Beverly Hills. I guess she needs publicity

Let me start by saying that this is a very embarrassing moment for me, I know that I’ve disappointed so many people including myself. I take full responsibility for my actions, but I absolutely did NOT “attack” a Beverly Hills police officer and I’m very confused by those allegations.

I did have drinks and I misjudged the situation by driving myself home. I want to apologize to those that I endangered that night and also to the people that I’ve let down. I hope that this situation can save someone from making the dumb decision to drink and drive!

I was captain of a dance team back in high school, and the only reason I know that song is because the new captains made up a dance to it after I graduated. Still annoys me to this very day.

I honestly don't know why I know it...I dont have her album and I don't really listen to radio....nor do I watch 106th and crap.

Well actually she is pretty known, the fact that she inst well known on the forum doesnt really mean much, because we all talk about indie music and yet the threads that get the most hits are about Janet and Michael and beyonce and anyone who dies, or hating on Alicia Keys or Joss Stone, that pretty much sums up what the forum knnows for the most part. But Mari has been doing her own thing for awhile now since Jay Z's BS'ing with her on his label back in the day, she is much better off, and what people dont realize is that she has got some "bank" she has produced 10 music videos for herself with no label behind her in the last 16months, along with 5 mixtapes that have circulated for free, so she is out there maybe its us who dont WALK the TALK we spread on this forum and actually look for other things.

I questioned her middle name because if you want to be a star your name has to be sound generic not to ethnic or very unique. Rhianna sounds more unique as a stage name not Robyn.

No, there is already a Robyn, who came before Rihanna.
