I guess I'm a bit thick. Why is this an insult? Is it a reference to the Pearl Jam song? I just do not get it:

20. Richey Edwards on The Levellers
“You could go to any Levellers concert and stand in the middle and shout, ‘Jeremy!’, and 75% of the audience would turn round.”

I think it was his way of saying that Levellers concerts are dead.

Perhaps this is a bass playr joke - really don't know. Possibly Edwards is hinting that the Levellers don't have masses of fans.wink Therefore I need to tell you this bass player joke:

One night at Club Chintz, the mindreader closes her set by reading the mind of the each of the musicians in the band.

First, she reads the mind of the lead guitarist: "Wow, look at all the cute chicks who showed up tonight! I bet they're all here to see me. Good crowd!"

Then the drummer: "Look at that crowd! With this many people in the house, we're going to make good money tonight!"

Then the Keyboard player: "Yeesh, look at that crowd. None of them will ever truly appreciate all of my talent. What a bunch of losers."

Finally, the Bass player: "E E E E E E E E A A A A A A A A E E E E E E E E..."

Jeremy is a name associated with upper class circles.

Scott Weiland on Axl Rose

"Get in the ring. Go to the gym, motherfucker, or if you prefer, get a new wig, motherfucker. I think I'll resist the urge to 'stoop' to your level. Oh shit, here it comes, you fat, botox-faced, wig-wearin' fuck! O.K., I feel better now.

"Don’t think for a second we don't know where those words came from. Your unoriginal, uncreative little mind — the same mind that had to rely on its bandmates to write melodies and lyrics. Who's the fraud now, bitch?

"Damn, I couldn't imagine people writing for me. How many albums have you put out, man, and how long did it take the current configuration of this so-called 'band' to make this album? How long? And without the only guys that validated the name.

"How dare you! Shame on you! How dare you call our bass player 'spineless?' We toured our album over a year and a half. How many shows have you played over the last ten years? Oh, that's right — you bailed out on your long-awaited comeback tour, leaving your remaining fans feeling, shall we say, a trifle miffed?! I won't even list what I've accomplished because I don't need to. What we're talking about here is a frightened little man who once thought he was king, but unfortunately this king without his court is nothing but a memory of the asshole he once was."

As much as Biggie got the brunt of "Hit 'Em Up", Prodigy from Mobb Deep got slammed on a personal level on that song pretty hard too, when Pac said

"Mobb Deep - don't one of you niggas have sickle cell or something? You fucking me with nigga, you might have a seizure or a heart attack, you better back the fuck up before you get smacked the fuck up"

LOL at Fred Durst, I like Bizkit, but when he tried to cover "1999" it was one of the most epic fails of all time.

Axl can be a...difficult...person but Scott may have gone a little too far. However, the "fat, botox-faced, wig-wearin' fuck" bit was pretty funny.

Some of them are pointed, some of them are over the line, some of them are damn funny!

But the only one I care about is Wayne Coyne commenting about Arcade Fire. See, I disagree with him. They actually write completely SHIT songs, they're pompous, treat others like shit and people STILL treat them like they're the greatest thing ever. Buncha crap. Eight people in that band and you can't hear what more than three or four of them are doing at any one time. And the woman "singer" in that band has no business singing ANYTHING, ANYWHERE, EVER!

*uhum* Now back to your regularly scheduled musicians ragging on other musicians...

Surely he is only meaning Axl.... Cause he was friend's with Slash & Duff, in fact Duff was oneof the last people to see him alive. So that comment is rather strange lol

Noel Gallagher is one of the worst at insults he is just a pissed off individual lol

He once said system of the down was the worst band he ever heard, and that he would rather hear the sound of his own death then listen to there cd eek ha

Yeah he only meant Axl. Axl treated him and Nirvana like shit I heard.

He did & made comments about there daughter which was a low blow.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

One of my favourites was Brian Johnson from AC/DC on The Edge & Bono. They had both been at R&R Hall of Fame show the same year and this is from an interview Johnson with with the 'Stuck In The 80s' podcast. Full podcast here: http://pod.sptimes.com/st...80s090.mp3

Q: What was the R&R Hall of Fame Experience like?

A: Well it was good, I really enjoyed it. Apart from The Edge out of U2 making a complete tart out of himself. It was good.

Q: *laughs* What did he do?

A: Well we were on stage and had to sing. Everybody had to go up and you had to make a speech and he was inducting The Clash, you know who we all love and everybody loves 'em. We're standing there and he kept on, he talked for 25 minutes. At the end we were coming up behind us [them] going "hey, bugger off. Get off".

Q: Those guys from U2, they don't know when to shut up.

A: Those puppy's [sic] are so far up their own arses it's just impossible to talk to them, they can't hear you. Their heads are right up with the intestinal parts of their body but hey, that's just me. Some people might think they're the sweetest guys on the planet, but it was just disrespectful and it was dumb. He just liked the sound of his own voice. The poor producer there for the TV was going "God almighty, how do I get this guy off?"

Q: "Well at least it was The Edge and it wasn't Bono. If it had been Bono he'd have been up there for about an hour and a half."

"He'd still be talking now"

A: Yeah, aye me son. But that was a lovely story when he was up in Glasgow, I'm sure everybody's heard it. When he was clapping his hands, like *bam* and he said "every time I clap my hand a child in Africa dies" and a kid at the front said "Well stop clapping your hands you cruel bastard". It could only happen in Scotland.

*answers question about R&R Hall of Fame acceptance speech*

A: All I said was "Man didn't know 'bout a rock 'n' roll show, and all that jive. The white man had the schmaltz, and the black man had the blues. No one knew what they was gonna do. But Tschaikovsky had the news", and I just said "Bon Scott wrote that, thanks very much, we accept it on his behalf and his family and ourselves". It was as simple as that. I didn't go on for 25 minutes saying how fabulous I was.

I don't feel that strongly about them but their music does not do a thing for me and Win Butler seems a bit full of himself. I think that part of the problem is all of the press they get claiming they are the Greatest Band Ever. They are not and they do not even come close to living up to the hype.
