1. How about that time back in the late 1970's when P-Funk leader George Clintion referred to Earth Wind & Fire as "Earth, Hot Air, & No Gasoline".
2. How about that time when Ice Cube dissed the remaining 4 members of NWA in the song, No Vasaline:
Got damn, I'm glad ya'll set it off.

Anton is fucked up I like the Biran Jonestown Massacre and all, but damn. That's it for me. No mo.
As far as disses, the Boy Goerge one about Prince used to crack me up.
"He looks like a midget dipped in a vat of cooking oil, and rolled in pubic hair."

That Kurt one cofuses me
Surely he is only meaning Axl.... Cause he was friend's with Slash & Duff, in fact Duff was oneof the last people to see him alive. So that comment is rather strange lol
Noel Gallagher is one of the worst at insults he is just a pissed off individual
He once said system of the down was the worst band he ever heard, and that he would rather hear the sound of his own death then listen to there cd Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Yeah he only meant Axl. Axl treated him and Nirvana like shit I heard.

George referred to EWF as "Earth, Hot Air and No Fire" in "Let's Take It to the Stage". They also dissed Rufus calling them "Sloofus".
My favorite Prince-associated rant came when at the end of "Onedayimgonnabesomebody", the record scratches and Prince and Morris and whoever else was with him (maybe Dez, Matt Fink and the like) said in a monotone chant: "we don't like new wave". This was a diss to Andre Cymone after he had left Prince's camp lol

I still listen to hit em up, Tupac went off he held nothing back
RIP "we make our heroes in America only to destroy them"

He truly didn't. I listened to the song a couple weeks ago, it's still hardcore as shit! 2Pac was on some OTHER shit then. RIP indeed.

Yeah that's what i love about him, he was so real. He spoke his mind, he even said he had a big mouth lol I've been listening to alot of his stuff lately and he was really ahead of his time, most(if not all) rappers in the game seriously can't even touch him. He was more intelligent than people think, he read alot and was very aware. I like how there were different sides of him like he was an activist, a thug and a ladies man all in one. True. I used to love one side better than the others during his lifetime (mainly his activist side) but now I admire ALL his sides, especially the thuggish one though his activist side is probably his best of the sides to me.

Axl was actually a fan when Nirvana first came out, but Kurt thought of him as a racist misogynistic idiot, and then Axl decided he wanted to "rumble" at the MTV music awards My Legacy

Yeah Kurt was open about his hatred of racism and homophobia and since he heard "One in a Million", he hated Axl from then on lol

Anton Newcombe that was coooooold! I'm in the mood for love...simply because your near me.

Anton was out of line. Who is Kathleen Hanna George Clinton insulted people with TALENT Boy George is right about Elton Before Boy George calls anyone hideous like he did with Madonna, he needs to check a mirro "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Fred Durst (from Limp Biskit) on Prince:
"When's the last time this guy had any hits?" (during the Rave Un2 period).

"Am I supposed to have hair everywhere and be surrounded by chicks? I'm not Paul Stanley. Face it, the guy wears a wig and he's gay". Tommy Lee 1995 SPIN Magazine
"I don't need a tin spaceship landing onstage to make me look good...And Bootsy?..Hell my dog's name is Bootsy". Rick James 1983 (local newspaper interview)
"Jimi Hendrix used to sing this nonesense that he was a voodoo child. He wasn't a voodoo child.. He was just a black (racial slur) who played some good guitar". Rick James (same interview)

If this is supposed to be a countdown, then this is way too low:
And as harsh as 2Pac was - and you're from NY/NJ, Mr. "Westside," so whatever - that Anton quote was off the MF chain! Way over the line, sure, but it should've been #1 with a bullet! [Edited 8/20/11 6:26am] "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Kind of surprising that the quote that Noel Gallagher made about Damon Albarn and Alex James of Blur did not make the list:
"I wish they would catch aids and die."
That's kind of on the harsh side.

Some of these are pretty funny. The Anton Newcombe one was just heinous, though. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I guess I'm a bit thick. Why is this an insult? Is it a reference to the Pearl Jam song? I just do not get it:
20. Richey Edwards on The Levellers “You could go to any Levellers concert and stand in the middle and shout, ‘Jeremy!’, and 75% of the audience would turn round.”
