Didn't some other musician say Lady Gaga was the reason for the "turmoil"? lol

Wasn't she involved with Floptina's Bionic? She has no room to talk.

Goodbye Linda.

Good one.

I just wanna know how it's an accomplishment to have 5 consecutive No.1's in an era where NO ONE is selling records. It's like being the top bullfighter in Alaska. razz

Because the dynamics of the music industry have changed. The hit single and hit album have been divorced from each other. Case in point: Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad had seven top ten singles released from it, putting it into the same territory as Michael Jackson's Thriller; yet her album sold only 2.6 million copies in the USA. Not a bad number these days, but very underperforming considering how many hit singles came from it.

And that's just record sales numbers. That doesn't take into account live performances and/or tours. Many of these huge singles artists suck when performing live, and a lot of them can't sell out small club or theater venues, let alone an arena. Meanwhile, you have acts like Dave Matthews Band, who sell just a small amount of albums, yet their tours sell out arenas and sometimes even stadiums. Considering many of these pop acts can't cut it live, they need to branch out into fashion and perfumery to bulk up their bank accounts.

CAN WE GET THIS POST put into GOSPEL!! Been saying this for eons, there is such a HUGE disconnect with someone who has Hit singles then someone who sells records and also the disconnect of top tours. Just look at who brings in Tour money, u2, bon jovi, billy joel, elton john, bruce springsteen, when was the last time any of them were on the radio AND it wasnt a classic song being played?? Truth of the matter is that there was a time when tours and sales of albums and singles went together, i mean back in 1984 the Cars heartbeat city album was mulitplatnum in the top 10 they had 5 singles in the top 20 and they were in the top 10 tours, today who is doing that? Taylor Swift maybe.....But the music business/industry now is so disjointed and broken up into so many departements and labels and charts that there is NO connection to anything, artists are more concerned with their twittering than there music output.

1. I respectfully disagree with Linda. Katy is not to blame. I would blame Rihanna because she can NOT sing worth a shit! I would blame Gaga for being a clone of David Bowie, Madonna, & Grace Jones. And I would definitely blame Ke$ha because she is trash, period!!! lol

2. Linda does have the right to use her freedom of speech and bitch about the wrongs of the music industry. Although her one-hit wonder status still stands, she is a real musician & real artist. At least she can play some freaking instruments. Can Katy, Ke$ha, & Rihanna do THAT much?!? I rest my case.

I have to agree with Linda on this one. Katy's music is corny and she's not as talented or cute as everyone hypes her up
