He sounded bad at the BET Awards.

This is not directed to you in particular, but, in general, I can never trust this board when it comes to judging vocalists. This place praises some of the shittiest vocalists ever unless they come from before the 80s.

He sounded bad to me. Sound like he was straining his voice.

I think he's corny as fuck. "a bullet straight through my brain." neutral Are you kidding me.

I thought I was the only one who thought this was a terrible pick-up line. Here are my pure, undefiled thoughts on Bruno Mars: fuck him.

I had the pleasure of doing a live engineering gig for Bruno at Billboard.

And he's one of the nicest people in the business.

That being said...

The man is a shit songwriter...

(Which is entirely not his fault because he does have a team of writers writing for him)

But the man needs to take a creative writing class and develop more skill with the pen.

Somebody mentioned John Mayer...

Who I also met...

And he's a complete asshole...

Self entitled prick...

But he writes well...

Strange how the world works...

Yeah, I haven't met John mayer and I could tell he's an arrogant bastard. Yeah, Bruno Mars sings great, but seriously, fuck him.

Here are my thoughts:

Is he mix with black?

Why is he corny?

Why his songs don't match with his voice?

Height anyone?

Why does he look like those monkeys from his video?

Quite worrying how many people rate his voice. It's average studio wise and live, it's appalling. And his songs, apart from Fuck You, are very pedestrian and average.

The remark about John Mayer doesn't surprise me. I really liked his first few albums - some really good songs and, in particular, inciteful lyrics that didn't indulge in the usual cliches. He basically came across as someone who was deep and sensitive. But alas, it became pretty clear that he was just a superficial starfucker. So I can imagine him being an uber cock.

Good comparison to John Meyer. nod

He looked ridiculous when he was the music guest on SNL, with that God awful 50s ensemble. I don't particularly care for it when artists try to steep their image in "retro"-chic. I also don't care for that sort of bland hipster soul that both he and Adele do. It's very, very cheesy.

Thoughts?

Another pop star who wraps all of the wrong messages up in a pretty, melodic package to brainwash the masses.

Shit like Liquor Store Blues and The Lazy Song are designed to work on a sunconcious level by being repititious and melodic...oh, wait...you don't want to hear the truth. My bad.

He's great!

He can sing and play instruments!

Yay! [img:$uid]http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-cute-smileys-368.gif[/img:$uid]

I read about him, hes actually not Black at all, hes Filipina and Puerto Rican. Hes also a cocaine addict, a very bad look for the just say no 2000s. His music is awright, but nothing new, hes huge here in New Zealand and has had four huge singles

Sorry , but that's such ignorant nonsense;

If you get caught with a little cocaine it automatically makes you an addict ? rolleyes

and btw who decided it's the '2000's just say no' ?

I don't care for it much myself but i won't judge anyone who does

You do realize alcohol is a hard drug too right ?

Just because that's socially accepted doesn't mean it's not

I think he's ok , he sings well and plays musical instruments

unlike all the talentless crap acts that are in the charts nowadays for the most part

He has a good voice and stupid songs. Never heard him sing live so I can't comment on that. If he adds a little substance to his song writing he will be good to go.
