Your thoughts on Bruno Mars? Saw him live last night, he was incredible! One of my favourite recent artists. A lot of his songs are cheesy and basic but god, his voice makes me melt.

Bruno Mars, what a fool.
The new video with those monkeys is ok, kind of funny - here on really high rotation on VH1 Denmark.

But does he have this dumb ass line in one of his songs that drives my crazy: "Should've known You was trouble / From the first kiss / You had your eyes wide open... / Why were they open? " Maybe she was doing some lines and you just got there late Mr. Mars.
Thank goodness he makes up for that one with "If perfect's what you're searching for then just stay the same ..."

He may be rolling eyes at your naivete. Innocence and lovliness is not really a quality celebrated on this board.
And because it is probably coming - what is naivete? Naivete is the state or quality of being inexperienced or unsophisticated, especially in being artless, credulous, or uncritical.
Please don't take it the wrong way, truth be told it is a great compliment. Many people on this board once harbored similar stances as yourself, Life just beat it the hell out of us. Stay strong and put your nose to the grindstone, just don't grind the whole thing off. | |

He's got a good voice, he's a decent instrumentalist, and he's a solid writer of fun, unapologetic pop. Fluffy stuff to which I won't be giving much time, but I actually kinda dig what he's doing. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I love his voice and the boy has skills on a stage but his songwriting is so 80's cheesy. If he ups the writing ante then I'll be a fan. Stevie Wonder = EARTH

I think females frequently wet themselves over that "amazing" song. Uh, the chorus is so grating.

I'm not sure what it is about Bruno Mars, but he's EASILY the most irritating presence in music for me right now - His songs really grate on me in ways that I can't explain. Maybe it's the lyrics or his overly emotive delivery...
But that being said, the dude is doing really well on the charts it seems, so people by and large seem to dig him. Still, those "Amazing" and "Grenade" songs really make me inexplicably angry... [Edited 8/17/11 22:42pm] I've seen the future, and boy it's rough... | |

He didn't become real popular until he was busted with drugs a few years ago...  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

I had the pleasure of doing a live engineering gig for Bruno at Billboard. And he's one of the nicest people in the business.
That being said... The man is a shit songwriter... (Which is entirely not his fault because he does have a team of writers writing for him) But the man needs to take a creative writing class and develop more skill with the pen.
Somebody mentioned John Mayer... Who I also met... And he's a complete asshole... Self entitled prick...
But he writes well...
