Glad to see that Frank Zappa continues to come up here periodically.
We're Only In It For The Money was slated to get reissued a few years ago.

Great musical satire aimed at the culture/counter-culture of the day.

A few faves...

...Flower Punk & Absolutely Free

...The Idiot Bastard Son & The Chrome Plated Megaphone of Destiny

My best friend's dad Robert Martin was Zappa's keyboard player in the 80's. Heard many great stories about Frank and the band!

I'm sure those were fun to hear.

Luckily, during their Garrick Theater stint (just prior to the release of Absolutely Free) I got to watch a rehearsal. Pretty brutal.

Me so envious, tA. You were actually at a FZ rehearsal? In the early days? Wow!

Bobby Martin is an absolutely incredible vocalist, one of those people who you have to wonder how they didn't make it to at least a Michael Bolton or Tom Jones level of fame.

Bobby on lead vocals (if you don't have the patience to enjoy the entire tune pull the progress slider up to about 3:45 to hear him flex his vocal muscle):

He is great! he told me his parents where opera singers & they would sing in the car when he was like 5 to stevie wonder, ray charles and to opera. And that is where he started singing... not a bad way to start lol

Yeah. Frank and the boys skewered the hippy cultrue (and the squares too) so devastatingly, it's almost frightening.

It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:
