Wilson Phillips cause if I remember they were always hiding the fat one in the videos. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Ah, Billboard's Year-Ending #1 R&B and Pop songs of 1990. I always thought that was such a cool coincidence.
I've always liked the Wilson Phillips song, but the answer is, has been, and will always be En Vogue. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

En Vogue's "Hold On" was such a cool ass song. That organ was dope! Added a nice eerie feel to the track. Not to mention the bass in the drum track banged hard. And the girls intro is perfection!

its a no brainer when you consider CAREERS (En Vogue fa sho!) but these two songs were huge for both groups and set them up well for what would come next, not much for Wilson Phillips but i'd actually give them the edge on this SONG.

I always loves both songs very much. But as vocalists, En Vogue OWNED Wilson Phillips.

Shout out to Djimon Hounsou in EV's video. Proud of him parlaying his modeling career into acting.

First times I saw him was in this video and Janet's, I think.

Yup Janet's "Love Will Never Do Without You". I wonder which one came first? Because Janet was mad singles deep by the time "LWNDWY" came out. It had to be a year later or so after RN dropped in '89. [Edited 8/17/11 13:27pm]

I don't see how this is even a serious question. These "vs" threads need to die a quick death "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I remember the Wilson Philips song, but never made an impression on me....En Vogue on the other hand, still on my itunes

This is not a vs thread, I don't make those.

EnVogue hands down the acapella intro no girl group past or present can beat that. I thought Wilson Phillips' Hold On video was very picturesque but they cant outsing EnVogue.

Gotta go for cheesy ole' Wilson Phillips. AOR's last gasp!

Concept is still the same "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Everybody's gonna choose En Vogue...and I am too...but truth be told, Wilson Phillips had a very nice sound and they're voices blended perfectly.

Whenever I hear that Wilson Phillips song 'Hold On' I always think of 'Release Me'. That confused me because it sounded like they were giving mixed messages. But I always liked En Vogue's 'Hold On'!
